As far as I'm concerned, Skyrim has the best sountrack in a Western video game since Rare was still with Nintendo.

What I love about it is how the emotions of the Helghast is reflected in the music. Their defeat, anger, clamness and retaliation.

Its also gamings first Ivor Novello award winner.

Xenoblade Chronicles, easily. Really not a competition. Imported the 4-disc OST from Japan…one of the greatest purchases I've ever made, outside of the game itself.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be in the top 3 from 7th gen for me.

Honorable mention to The Last Story soundtrack, too.

Mass Effect series, especially the music for 2 and 3. Skyrim had a really memorable soundtrack as well. I'd say it's close to a tie.
