Don't forget the 3D Movies as well, source: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=173039

I love 3D movies (if they are not cheap 2D conversions)... I watched over 50 Blu-ray 3D movies this year and over a dozen 3D movies in the cinema.

But do you really think, that 3D movies in 240p on the 3DS will attract many new customers and will be more than a gimmick for the actual userbase? Resolution trumps the 3D effect big time... most other mobile devices (tablets, phablets, Vita, newer iPod touch models, cheap netbooks, and smartphones with resolutions of 800x480 and much higher) are more suitable to watch movies than a 3DS with 240p.

The Nintendo 3DS with the 3D ON has much more clearity and way more anti-aliasing then 4K HD LED TVs. So think image quality will be just fine in every aspect.....as long as they don't release a 8K HD LED TV.

It might sell more than every other platform, but it needs something new to dominate. Mario Golf isn't going to launch it to the moon anytime soon, and Smash won't either.

Including Japan.

Just from Smash alone, not including all the other greatness.

but..but..but...the 3D is a gimmick and causes everyone to bleed from there eyes..and..and..and...the Vita's sooo much more powerful and will annihilate the 3DS when it comes out...and...and...and...Nintendo's Doomed!!!

I just love stupid people who like to predict a winner before the race even starts.

I love that someone brought this old statement back, now that we have all seen the actual results. Thanks BuckStud for reminding everyone of those days.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

It handled them this year with the PSP/Vita/PS3/360 still biting at its heals as well, plus a huge Tablet surge with all those cheap tablets that were out this year.

This thread was made in response to the thread that said vita would more or less dominate.

Tablet shipments are expected at around 221 million for 2013, and predicted to rise further in 2014.  I don't know if I'd say it really handled them.

Also, how many people seriously think the Vita is going to "more or less dominate" in 2014?

The 3DS didn't "dominate" this year. SSB4 won't change that.

I honestly don't get why there is a version of smash on 3DS. they should have kept it on WiiU only as it will effect its sales as in it will sell less because of the 3DS version

I agree, and I wonder that myself.  In a healthy environment it would have been a great idea to have it on both systems, but considering the Wii U's struggles, it seems like a terrible option.  Smash Bros. is arguably going to be the largest system seller the Wii U will ever see; it's the only game that pulls in casuals, the harcore, and everyone in between.  And here they are giving the players an opportunity to just pass over the Wii U entirely.  It's weird.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

It'll be between the PS4 and the 3DS, though I think 3DS will sell more.

just like 3DS sold 20 million this year, right spurg?
