Action Adventure / Hack 'n slash (i.e. God of War, Castlevania: LoS)
RPGs with platformers as a close second.
I like Action Adventure games! So it doesn't matter if it's a Beat'em up, first/third person, shooter, open world, rpg. Any of those can have a high amount of action. By action i mean bullets, arrows, karate, magic, one-to-one response.
I don't like turn-based or real-time strategy. I like being one man, killing by sneaking up or blasting from on high.
RPGs are my favourite, and platformers hold the second place.
