Forums - PC Discussion - Steam Holiday Sale is OVER - What did YOU get?

I couldn't resist Heroes VI Complete Edition at 10 Euros despite the game getting bad community reviews for having lots of bugs and lack of support from Ubisoft.

I'm hoping to relive that atmospheric and cozy Heroes 2 experience.

Hopefully they give XCOM plus expansion in a sale for a cheap price soon.

XCOM was like day 2 of the sale, it might be in the recap

I got Game Dev Tycoon and played a bit last night.

It's great!

So far I've "developed" seven games and I've gone from the brink of bankruptcy to move to my first office and have 1.2M on the bank .

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

it's a fun little game but really shallow, you will probably go bust soon early time in the first office is the only chalanging part of the game.

Do I need to get both XCOM Enemy Unknown and XCOM Enemy Within?

On Wikipedia it says the expansion is standalone, but on Steam it says it requires Enemy Unknown.... how can that be? Will I miss something without the other?

Dammit, I bought Bioshock Infinity + season pass but it's not working. Apparently since I only got Windows XP.

I nearly bought XCOM + expansion from Amazon but it too seems to not support Windows XP.

Why haven't you moved over to Windows 7? It's far more secure, better drivers and easily better compatability and it's more reliable.
And if you can play games like Bioshock Infinite, then you have the hardware to handle it. :P

Upgrading seems so complicated. Especially on an old HDD where I have bunch of stuff installed.

XP always worked well for me. With my new comp I will have to upgrade though. Will I still be able to access all my Steam games even though I use 2 PCs in parallel?

Upgrading is easy.

Or you can buy an Upgrade version.

Yes you can.

There are two ways to use Steam from 2 different machines.
Set one PC's Steam to "Offline mode" or use "Family Sharing".

Ok, but the other people here said I should upgrade to WIndows 8 and ignore the Metro interface.

Will I be able to access my steam games if my old PC keeps Windows XP and the new one gets Windows 8?

Does it matter what type of Win 8 license I buy? (I will prob get the cheapest option that goes with the hardware parts I will order soon)
