Forums - Gaming Discussion - So who WON the Black Friday Week????

Which of the Major 4?

Nintendo 368 64.45%

Microsoft 80 14.01%

Ouya 33 5.78%

Sony 90 15.76%

Total:571

Wow! Thats allot of handhelds. Im sure the 2ds has allot to do with this. Wii u didnt do too bad either and i noticed it was sold out at our local target and walmart this week too. These numbers give me allot of hope for the wii u also. If they can do this with the 3ds they can make the wii u succeed. Probably will take another year since they seemed to have just started getting it back on track but i think its far from dead!

  • Nintendo is the closest to being a winner, with the phenomenal sales of the 3DS, but it's not like the 3DS broke any records. Black Friday Week in 2007, the DS sold over 1.3 million units. So the 3DS is, IMO, merely doing adequately.

This comparison is mucked up by European and Japanese numbers. Black Friday is primarily a US thing -- just look at how little the "holiday" affected UK sales this week. DS sales in the US the week of Black Friday in 2007 were about 610k. In 2008, it was about 760k, barely above the 3DS this year. Even if the 3DS is overtracked by up to 100k or so, it's hanging in there with two of the DS's best years. Very good numbers.

Nintendo with 3DS but MS did very good with both Xbox consoles.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I sure hope it's not severely overtracked. That number is so sexy, already at last year's levels in America with a month to go!

According to South Park .... Xbox and Bill Gates.

NOOOOO!!! Was this a spoiler, don't answer, I'll assume both yes and no...

I blame myself for not watching yet...

Maybe ... maybe not! I don't know! Or do I!? Watch and find out next time on Dragon Ball Z on South Park.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

OMG 3DS made a good job on black friday

By number of consoles in whole world sold: Nintendo closely followed by Sony then MIcrosoft

1/ Nintendo sold more than 1.8 millions consoles (Everything is on shelves mostly everywhere)
2/ Sony sold more than 1.6 millions consoles (remember PS4 is sold out)
3/ Microsoft sold around 0.9 million console. (remember X1 is sold out)

By total revenue (dollars) approximative estimations: Remember, a PS4 and X1 are around 4 times the price of a 2DS/3DS.

1/ Sony won the battle of income revenue, PS4 is 400$ and the PS3 and PSvita are still a bit expensive.
2/ Nintendo
3/ Microsoft

So in conclusion both Sony and Nintendo won. Microsoft lost.

i think i know why a lot of people clicked microsoft... the top 10 of software in the US is owned by microsoft!

PS4, X1 and 3DS all did fantastic but those 3DS sales are way too damn impressive...and I doubt PS4 sold under 300k in N.A. based on Sony's 11 day sales. PS4 is undertracked by at least a 100k in that territory according to Sony's statement.

Edit: Wii U sold more than PS4? Sony REALLY NEEDS TO RESHIP NOW...ITS SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE!!! Even if its under tracked by at least 100k!

PS4 is sold at a loss...... Nintendo is making a profit on every 1.8 million consoles sold. Xbox is sell at $100 more then Ps4 and probably for a small profit.

Nintendo won black friday...... Sony number includes the European release of PS4, therefore not really Black Friday numbers.

NExt week sales will be interesting... see if Xbox One can outsell PS4 in NA this year.
