Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Ryse scoring well with the consumer

Of course it does score well. These are early adopters and Xbox-lovers. It´s like Nintendo and their fans who defend everything. Same with ps4 and killzone sf.

omg xDDD

if we convert that to a 1-10 scale amazon users give it an 8 and xbox live users a 9

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Mediocre games are mediocre.

I enjoyed Cross Edge but that didn't change it is mediocre.

Most people that have purchased a console is likely to try to justify that purchase currently.

I'm going into Killzone Shadow Fall expecting a 7/10 game. I am hoping I will be able to keep myself from falling into that pit.

If anyone here seriously believes Ryse will be spoken about in 1-2+ years, you're only fooling yourself. Barely any of the launch games across both platforms will be rememberd. Accept a poor launch and move on. Though I can see Selnor's need for this as Ryse seems to be one of the best games he has ever played. Smh...

I'll copy and paste my comment from another thread:

The game is pretty, the game is bloody, the game is a big X1 exclusive, alot of people probably bought a X1 for that game thus have a large confirmation bias, they're still completely caught up in launch hype....these are all reasons why those gamer reviews are completely worthless at the moment. Same with Knack, where people are also saying it's actually really good...wait 2 more years and then look back at Ryse or Knack and you're probably going to wonder what you thought was amazing about these games.

Right now you have nothing but people trying to justify their 400-500 $ console purchases by making these launch games into more then they really are.

Well you just answered yourself plus I will add mediocre in put that way is very relative.

Ryse is a top notch game, encompassing almost everything needed to be considered next-gen.

I don't understand the point of posting numerous threads about Ryse and how its got good reviews on Xbox live etc. One thread is more than enough. Anyway a lot of games get between 4 and 5 stars on PSN and Xbox Live. If GTA has 4.5 stars and Ryse has 4.5 stars does that mean they are equal? Of course not!
