Now lose the tablet controller and drop the console to $99 and I'll think about buying one.

yer so in other words you would never buy one.

I guess not. I'm not paying more than $99 for a console that only has about 4-5 games worth playing throughout its entire lifespan.

and what are you playing on those pc's for example?

Almost every game I find of interest, had a brief go on BF4 and Starcraft 2 earlier, I have over a hundred games on Steam. Most of my gaming has been PC recently, upcoming other then the usual multi-platform titles I like the look of Star Citizen, Reset, Routine, the new Homeworld title plusa the remakes and the new title from the Amnesia team. I literally now days only buying consoles for titles exclusive to them which is ironic as I'm still a console gamer and started gaming on them.

If you can only afford one system this gen then it's pretty clear to me that you shouldn't get a Nintendo system for the lack of third-party support alone.

But the perfect scenario is to own a Wii U plus either the PS4 or the XBO. That way you get the best of everything.

I dont see why we always talk about PS4 and Xbox as one console, except the multiplatforms, PS4 will get at least as many exclusives than Wii U, the fact xbox one and PS4 have a lot of games in common doesnt mean they have less exclusives than nintendo.

I'm sure microsoft will get a good amount of exclusives this generation since they opened some studios.

So the perfect scenario is to own every console to get the best of everything.

Do you even have time to play Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft exclusives plus third-party games and handheld games and PC games?

At some point it becomes a question of time. And for me Wii U + PS4 will be all I need.

Too bad it took Nintendo a year to come out with it. It actually does look great, but if one worthwhile game a year and minimal 3rd party support is to be expected of the Wii U, there's still no point in me buying one.

One worthwhile game in 1 year? While this year was limited, if we go from Nov 2012-2013: SMBU, ZombiU, Scribblenauts Unlimited,Lego City , Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends and SMB3DW were all great games. Next year looks absolutely stellar  with DKC, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, X, Bayonetta 2, Yarn Yoshi, Possible New Zelda, and whatever else they are going to announce!

I dont play PC games, i dont like this platform.

even if it takes me 2 generations ( WiiU/PS4/One/Vita/3DS will certainly be the last consoles i buy in my life), i dont want to miss a game i want to play

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

People can stay stuff like this all they want. Everyone with even half a brain knows the statement quoted in thread title is not true at all. This is coming from someone who kind of likes WiiU also...

Yikes, so much fuss over one guy's opinion.

Agreed, the PS4 and Xbone have litterally nothing that look remotely interesting yet, outside of perhaps Dead Rising 3, but I wouldn't spend more than 30 bucks to play that game, let alone $60 + $500 for the console to play it on. I don't see how these consoles are selling other than the hype.. But hype can only last so long. Eventually you're going to need actual substance.

Though in all fairness, it took the Wii U a year to get only a handful of games worth playing. It could very well take the same amount of time for the PS4 and Xbone.

PS4 and Xbone will have an actual third party support. Every noticable 3rd game that is being developed right now will release on PS4/Xone (with the exception of Dark Souls 2 and PC MMOs). Wii U didnt have that luxury in the past. Where was Tomb Raider for   Wii U? Metal Gear Rising? Bioshock? GTA?

Meh, just because they're third parties doesn't automatically make them great. In fact, most of the third party games out there for my money, are garbage. Then there are a few good ones sprinkled in, with an occasional gem.

I don't get why so many here view third parties as the be-all-end-all. Nintendo is 1000x times better than the vast majority of them. There is a reason third party games don't sell on Nintendo consoles.. Because Nintendo games are on them. The only third party developers that even come close in quality to Nintendo these days are Blizzard, Capcom, and some Sega.. Made a couple other lesser known ones too like Bethesda, but they don't crank out a whole lot of games.. The funny thing is, modern Nintendo is piss poor compared to retro Nintendo, but modern Nintendo is STILL infinitely better than most developers.
