Notice these are green boxes? Last month all day one (black boxes) were accounted for. Best Buy, Gamestop and Amazon all had some more up for pre-order weeks or a day ago for Amazon. These are the second wave green boxes. Gamestop personnel told me when they were back up they weren't day one editions.

Maybe, or maybe demand is just lower than expected. No way to know right now.
Edit: Third possibility is that they overshipped to some areas and undershipped to others. In other words, bad appropriation.
hopefully in a day or so they can sell all of them. Hope the demand is there it looks like an amazing console.
Wish I lived in one of those areas, I have called 5 Walmarts, a Target, and 2 Best Buys. All sold out. Maybe I will try Toys R Us.

Maybe because you aren't forced to pick up a pre-order?
People changed their minds and bought a Wii-U obviously ;)
EDIT: Im aware Game and Gamestop probably make you put down a deposit for a pre-order (Which im surprised is actually allowed in the UK, considering you don't pay for pre-orders until dispatch)
But do other retailers make you put down your money before hand?

How can it outship PS4 in major territories when PS4 only launched in NA? It could also be that demand for X1 is just not that strong. Why don't we wait till both consoles launch in major territories before claiming outshipping is "accurated"
This was obviously there plan to outship Sony and claim victory regardless of actaul pre-order numbers! :p
I can see it now, Microsoft announce sales* of 1.2million XBOX ONEs the highest in console history.
