Nice start by the Heat I wouldn't mind a game 6.

After tonight this reaffirms my belief that the heat were stupid lucky to win it all last year. Pop was arrogant and outcoached himself when he sat Duncan the last two defensive possessions of regulation in game six, which led to two offensive rebounds and made threes for Miami (and he seriously did not get nearly enough shit for that, doesn't matter how much clout he has). In the long run it naturally doesn't matter, if the spurs had won last year they probably wouldn't have played with the same fire that they have this year.

Great year for the spurs, Duncan now, I feel, is unquestionably the best power forward of all time. He and Pop have won championships across three decades, probably the most resilient and consistent teams of all time. I am by no means a fan of their team, but I respect what they have achieved and enjoy the way they play the game (except for that flopping douchebag Ginobli, though I can still a ppreciate his game from time to time).

Yeah they main reason they won it all last year is because they had home court throught the playoffs and even with that they almost lost it.

Great win by the Spurs if it really wasn't much of a finals the Heat could have easily been a swept but its always nicer to clinch it at home.

Statistically speaking, this was the least competitive nba finals of all time, despite it not being a sweep, given a net margin of victory of seventy points. Even last year, though the heat won, the spurs outscored them by five points, not that it matters in the long run but it is an interesting stat.

Going forward I hope all the rumors that Carmello Anthony is heading to the heat winds up coming trye, just for the massive shitstorm it would cause. Not only that, but I think it would only make the heat a worse team, mello is not a team player and if the rest of the big three stay in place it would tie up so much cap space that they would practically be playing four on five all season.

Looked like it also.  Not sure if Mello will end up with the Heat its probably more likely that he and Lebron will play together on a different team.  The Heat only have two players guranteed under contract for next season Chris Anderson and Noris Cole.  LeBron, Wade and Bosh can opt out and Haslem has a players option.  The Spurs on the other hand have nine people under contract Duncan has a players option but he is not going anywhere else he is either going to stay with the Spurs or retire.  The only key player that is a free agent is Boris Diaw I'm pretty sure he will stay with the team also.  As long as Duncan doesn't retire they have exellent chance of winning it again next year.

The Heat coach is god damned terrible, and if I ever hear anyone try to say that Lebron = Jordan again I'll rip their spleen out and use it as a martini dressing. Top 20 player all time? Perhaps. Best player ever? Bullshit.

I love how not only did Spoelstra take out LeBron down with 6:30 left, but LeBron allowed it to happen as if it was impossible to come back. Could you imagine Jordan allowing his coach to this? Kobe? Bird? Magic? Do you want me to go on? I could list about 100 other players...

Can we end these LeBron and Jordan comparisons? LeBron isn't Tim Duncan. That guy has 5 championships now. Pretty sure LeBron won't do that. Maybe he'll lose in the Finals on a third team soon.

Still one of the best small forwards of all time.  I would still rank Bird ahead of him but you really can't make a solid case to rank any other small forward ahead of LeBron besides Bird.

so heard a couple people requesting nba thread.... My last season thread was all sorts of FAIL but hopefully i can actually update it this time.
