Very true. Hopefully, this is at least the start of "better" commericals for the Wii U then what we have seen in the past. It's much better than the dub step B.S durig the launch.

They always knew how to market to families, they dont know how to market to the hardcore. the people that would buy games like bayonetta 2 and call of duty.
It's a little cheesy, but at least it communicates a point and as such it's probably the best ad NOA has done for the Wii U to date.
I think the ad would've been a bit better served if the dad quickly said "Don't you guys already have a Wii?" and the daughter rolled her eyes and said "No, dad, this is the NEW Wii U system, get with it". Maybe the mom could throw in a "Even I knew that". A little simple thing like that probably makes it a bit more clear that this isn't a controller accessory.
The other thing is it kinda makes it look like you get Mario 3D World with the system, but I guess at this point it doesn't matter, because you have to get the system in people's homes one way or another.
Who here shop on Amazon to buy nintendo Wii U games. I just order Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U.

This is such a silly argument but I have been seeing it a lot. How many people upgrade their phone every year? So they already know upgrading means getting a new phone, they will understand that upgrading to Wii U means buying another system.
Its sad really because you are trying to act like everyone is clueless to what an upgrade is when millions of casuals and non gamers do it every year.
I actually thought someone like Soundwave would be the first to try this.

I just wanted to tell everyone that I have seen more commercials advertising Wii U/Wii U games today than I have seen since the console released...
This includes the commercial in the OP...
Nintendo really seems to be preparing for the holidays...

That's only a slight exaggeration...
The ad in the OP has been aired at least five or six times today...
And there's a Lets Dance 2014 commercial that's getting played relatively regularly...
