Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why DLC suddenly doesn't matter, specifically WiiU?

DLC are normally cheap add-ons. But people seem to think it's like building a brand new game just because it's on WiiU and therefore not worth the effort.

Or are they just secretly scared that WiiU will dominate if it's given equal footing in a fight?

spurge hacked galaki's account? i knew it!

I was under the impression everyone hated paid DLC anyway all this recent generation, at least i mostly heard bitching about it.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Depends how the DLC is done. Capcom style of DLC for exampel is the worse kind.

Yes, developers putting their games on the Wii U are secretly terrified that it might get a decent install base and make their games sell better. We all know how much the big publishers hate money!

it has something to do with servers i suppose
WiiU doesnt deserve them

DLC for me is like the deleted scenes included on a DVD. More often than not they were deleted for a reason.

There are definitely exceptions -- for example I really enjoyed the Fable II DLC -- but most of the time I end up regretting the purchase.

What worries me is that publishers will start (or continue) removing essential pieces of games and selling them off piecemeal. Once that happens the integrity of each game is severely compromised.

No, they are normally stuff that should already be on the main package (and most of them are in the disc already).

Given their historical conduct on Nintendo home consoles, the idea of love for money overriding all other factors is, at best, questionable.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

wiiu will have problems on dlc cause it has no hard drive space (only 32gb-8gb) and also the lack of account like the psn and xboxlive.....
