Now give us RE Zero and RE1 HD!
Never played Wind Waker before. I'm going to pick it up on payday. Now remaster Super Metroid with some all new content, and I will buy that one too :)
"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."
Shigeru Miyamoto
That's likely the reason they did it in the first place. A quick means of putting a Zelda game on the WiiU in time for Christmas.
Whether or not positioning it like a "AAA" game to help drive sales will help (along with the price cut) is very much an open question though. I have doubts.
Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

The GC versions were awesome and same with the Wii version. Just thought it's only fair since RE4 and RE Code Veronica got the HD treatment.
Frequency said: It could be a carbon copy with nothing but an upres and it would be worth $50 the fact it looks dramatically better makes it all the more worthwhile. That said I don't think sales are going to be amazing |
aside from japan, US has it outsold all the 30 cent promo NES games (except 1) and its 2nd highest download title here (US)
1. Super Metroid (SNES) 30 cent promo
2. LoZ WW HD [2 weeks and 4 days of sales]
3. Kirby Adventure (NES) 30 cent promo
4. Super Mario World (SNES)
5. Donkey Kong (NES) 30 cent promo
US should have good sales, Amazing sales imo is if it sells over 1mil. Its a remake of a game that sold 4mil (one of the least selling Zelda consoles)

I guess Halo Anniversary, GoW Collection/Origins/Sagas, MGS Collection, Jak Collection, Ico Collection, Fable Anniversary, Kingdom Hearts HD, Final Fantasy 10 HD, DMC Collection, Killzone Trilogy were all a waste of resources. |
Yes, ALL of them are, imo. I remember back in the stone ages, (you know, the PS2 era?) when devs pretty much only focused on producing brand new stories and games. Now everyone and their sister are both releasing ancient games and wanting them.
Makes no sense to me. HD graphics don't change the story. Give me a brand NEW Zelda, FF and Metal Gear over the same game I played and beat over and over again with prettier visuals any day.
I wonder if they could have done the remaster in a shorter period of time.

Wind Waker's main purposes were according to Nintendo giving the Zelda Team some experience in HD developing and also giving the fans something for the wait until Zelda U, everything else will be just a bonus, WW HD didn't cost a fortune and it doesn't sell bad at all.
Nintendo,
Let me trade in Nintendo Land for $50 + Wind Waker. I supported your crummy system for 1 year and I got nothing out of it. No? Well good luck getting me to purchase a new Wii U game, ever.
