Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are you part of the Wii U is doomed crowd or Vita is doomed crowd?

I seem to ( sadly) be biased against..

Wii U 71 25.54%

Vita 142 51.08%

3DS 20 7.19%

other ( post below ) But ... 45 16.19%

Total:278

I've been tempted to out of retaliation, but I realised it wouldn't be worth it.

I believe both systems will keep their head above water for the next 5 years at the very least, and both systems have underrated games libraries.

the difference is that one is technically superior in its market but lacking good support while the other is technically behind in its market (if you consider it next gen) and also lacks good support for it.

As time goes on, I think vita will get better than the wii U will. WiiU will probably get worse since most of the third party games its getting now is because developers are scaling the games according to PS3/360. once next gen games stop releasing on ps3/360, most of them wont bother making a special version for wiiU, or nintendo will have to pay a premium for it which they wont for every multiplatform game....which still wont look as good as ps4/xb1

I still cant figure out how black ops declassified went so wrong on the vita (supposed to be what sells the vita, turned out to be lowest rated vita game on metacritic), and why despite vita's power and RAM, fifa is just a kit update (even on the 3ds).

on the bright side, we still havent seen big titles like GTA, god of war and gran turismo pushing the limits on the vita so theres still hope for that whereas the wiiU is already as good as it gets.

i own both.

Wii U is getting more games that fit in with my tastes. I'm overwhelmingly happy with Wii U! I've beaten several games and had all new experiences. I luv lluv luv it! It's become the center of my universe; television, friends, web/youtbe free of annoying ads, porno, gaming. One device to rule them all. No other single device, present or future, can off all of this with a better interface. Will it catch on? Yes, I believe it's up to marketing.

Vita is a luv hate thing. I've owned it for 18 months and beaten 3 games and they weren't very special. On one hand, I want it to get good games like gta v stories or red dead tales so the purchase becomes a positive. On the other hand, I'm so impatient over this ungodly drought that part of me wants to believe vita is doomed. Ultimately, I've already bonded with it so I'd be happier if it succeeds. Will it?  Not imo.  Remote play is it's hail mary.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

If I am being honest with myself. Hand on heart I believe Vita is doomed. Sales have been poor for too long to turn its fortunes around. Wii U has a bit of time to save itself from doom yet but not that long.

I'm biased towards Xbox but I usually end up buying all the consoles (except Nintendo, but that will be different this gen).

Edit: I'm not in the Wii U is doomed crowd or Vita. They aren't doing well early in their life cycles that could change in 2014 for both devices.

So it wont get PS4/Xb1 games when its inexpensive to port to the machine and engines are scalable and the last gen stuff is all DX9 games?

Right. I swear some people dont think.

Neither. They both just need games.
