Forums - Sony Discussion - Nintendo Monster Hunter Exclusivity Runs out by 2014

Is this rumor true?

No way 49 25.93%

Definitely 17 8.99%

Possibly 69 36.51%

Who gives a crap? 54 28.57%

Total:189

December 2010 -- Portable 3rd (PSP)
August 2011 -- Portable 3rd HD (PS3)
December 2011 -- 3G (3DS)
December 2012 -- 3G (Wii U)
April 2013 -- Frontier G (PC/360)
September 2013 -- 4 (3DS)
November 2013 -- Frontier G (PS3)
December 2013 -- Frontier G (Wii U)

Man, people really can't accept that Capcom could possibly have made Monster Hunter 3G and 4 on Nintendo consoles by choice.

Why is there anything suspicious about one of the most popular franchises in Japan being made for by far the best-selling console in Japan for the past two years?

And Capcom responded by making the worst MH for the Vita and PS3.

lol, I know. Hopefully Sony strikes back with exclusivity next time around. If not, they're missing out on a LOT of good japanese sales.

Monster Hunter Frontier is heading to PS3 and Vita. So i guess the contract was made in 2010, not 2011.

and Wii U too, so this is a bad exemple

Nintendo exclusivity =/= 3DS exclusivity. Thats why i just said about PS3 and Vita versions.

really? so why MH3U is not on PS360?

it means there were never an exclusivity deal, and that Capcom needs money so they are porting to every console that have a good install base on Japan, Sony and Nintendo.

Nintendo better take advantage while they can! Wii U exclusive next year or die trying!

But why? It has sold the most on nintendo systems.

Even though I don't care, Wii U is going to be successful no matter what. All Nintendo consoles are successful in the end due to the strength of Zelda, Pokemon, Mario and many other exclusives. Put Monster Hunter on something that actually needs it (Vita)

No evidence for either case. It could have been a deal to make MH4 3ds exclusive and  to not announce a port of any other MH to psvita until the end of the first week of MH4 's release (so that all the undecided MH fans who are psp owners buy a 3ds). Sure, there might not have been a deal at all, but this by no means does it tell us that that was the case.

Because they also made one for by far the worst selling console in Japan for the past year.

...And they didn't release it for the successor to by far the best selling console at that time.

I wonder when God Eater's exclusivity runs out.

Who came up with the whole 3 year thing? Was it ever confirmed or it is some random Sony fan speculation.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Sales means everything... and I think Monster Hunter on Nintendo so far have sold well so even though the exclusivity might run out... I think Capcom might make continue to make it on Nintendo anyway... Or Nintendo can buy Capcom since they only have like 200 mill on their bank
