love the list just sad that no love for tales of syomphia! and am glad alot of people recognize ffix is great

I'll give some love to Symphonia :) Great game, great combat system, great characters, great pacing, great story. Would love to see a prequel.

@OP: that's a fine looking list. I'd put Final Fantasy VI on top, but you can't go wrong with any of those. We were really blessed in the mid to late 90s with so many awesome RPGs.

No Lunar? For shame.

Surprised at how low some JRPGs are rated compared to the best games in other genres. I'm started to doubt we'll see any JRPG crack 90 next gen.

I doubt we will get many JRPGs at all next gen :(

Still need to play Persona 4.

That's the kind of crime that would get you burned at the stake.

IT's really telling how far a lot of the JRPG devs have fallen.

The only "traditional" style JRPG in that this gen is Xenoblade and that's even a Wii game.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Tales of Symphonia being so low is a travesty, and FFVII being on the list at all is even worse of a travesty. Persona 4 getting the love that it deserves though is great. Also the list needs more Earthbound/Mother 3.

Number one is rightfully deserved.

I met someone on here who would vehemently oppose to that.

I would, too.  Maybe not vehemently.  It's a good game, but there were plenty of better RPGs on the SNES alone.

I remember talking to someone here who said that chrono trigger deserves to be in the top 10 most overrated games.

No Suikoden 2? fail list.
