Forums - Microsoft Discussion - So could the X1's secret sauce be "Voxel" Cone Ray Tracing?

LOL I doubt the x1 has that much computational power to do it. If anything the PS4 is more likely to do it.

How many damn secret sauces can this console possibly have?

Both are far, far, FAR too weak to use real Ray Tracing !

We both know that (XD) but I`m just here to shoot down any hopes of it happening on both consoles.

Oh and raytracing could be done at 360p/20fps LMAO.

I'm having trouble keeping up with all these Secret Sauces that might be available. I'll be glad when the truth comes out either way because then at least we're done with it.

Interesting information even if I don't understand half of it. Can we ban the words "Secret sauce" please? It's lost all its meaning at this point.

It seems like I read a new "secret sauce" thread with new theories every week.

It ain't just you bro its everyone else.

You would need lot of hamsters under the hood for that - 20-30TFLOPS for full voxel based world, according to Tim Sweeney from EPIC in Gamasutra interview some 6 months ago.

LOL, OP is clearly an MS mole. NO proof of this, then it's more BS. Ray tracing wont even run properly yet on the most powerfull PC's. THese types of threads are getting beyond sad at this point.,
