Forums - Sports Discussion - Simple Dieting Guide (Gain muscle or losing weight)

that will not work if u are a little fatty... to lose weight there are just 2 simple steps,
1. learn cooking, its fun and u learn how to eat good without any problems.
2.. learn how to walk. its easy, walk short ways, dont drive or use the bus, and use a bicycle for longer ways. its no big deal.

and if u wanna get muscle, join a sport club, boxing, football, swimming. its much easyer to work out in a team.

Since June of last year I have went from 245 to 200 and my target weight is 180. I drink mostly water and lift every other day while running 4+ miles 5 days a week on the treadmill. I have to say the hardest thing so far is limiting myself on what I can eat. After these extreme workouts my body is always hungry and I get crazy cravings. It's all mental but man does it get hard.

This would be so helpfull if i coud stop drinking a bottle of coke a day. tbh if i could lay off the coke i'd be fit in no time

...

and maybe less beer in the weekends

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

This is a great read, and nearly exactly the way I think/perform. I want to post a progress pic, but I don't know how to attach an image from an iPhone!

I get into arguments with people all the time over this. When I just recommend cutting calories and/or increasing physical activity and not worrying about the peripheral items of fat, etc; that is unless it is directed by a doctor for a health issues. And they usually start bringing out the stupid things from the latest diet trends.

Though bringing in a verity of food does increase overall health, and one of the reason why most fad diets border on the dangerous is most of the time they are removing things that a body needs and introducing things that are not that great for you body. For example anything Soy - the short of it is soy unless you ferment it a certain way for over a year isn't good for your body. 1) The nutrients are indigestible for humans as is. and 2) Raw soy contain trace amounts of toxins that break down brain function,(Couldn't spell the type of toxin.) which some studies tie to the higher than normal rate of dementia in Asian countries. And most if not all commercial soy isn't even fermented long enough. So unless you have a doctor directed reason to being on soy you should avoid it.

I need to lose 15 kilos in 1 month, how do I do it?

Im planning on hitting the gym and only eating proteine food like tuna fish and chicken.

I have to disagree with the selection of meats. Eating Beef and Pork can still be good for you and are great sources of healthy fat, depending on the way it was raised. Woodland raised pork (which the pigs consume grass, moss, leaves) and grass fed beef (they eat grass without pesticides) are very lean in fat and extremely healthy for you as they contain high amounts of CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) which is an effective in preventing cancer, inflammation ect.

Any major store bought chicken and turkey is going to be loaded with horomones and antibiotics and are basically fed junk. If your going to eat these try finding Amish/Mennonite raised or a decent organic brand that isn't owned by a major corporation.

As for fish, I'd stay away from everything in the grocery store as alot of the fish are farmed, full of toxins and even contain dyes. I'm lucky enough to have a small seafood store in my area where the owner is conscious about the type of fish he sells. He carries alot of fish that come from Iceland (Halibut, Cod) which is probably some of the cleanest fish you can find.
