nothing, just like Windows 32 or 64 it wouldn't make any different until you have more than 4 GB RAM.

32 is limited to 4 GB RAM ,and phones barely carry 2 GB RAM , so having a 64 bit processor is useless, that is until Phones reach Laptop speeds, a useless marketing gimmick just like every single "Feature" samsung makes.

That would be true if 64-bit addressing was the ONLY difference.  The point is it's the next-generation CPU architecture (ARMv8) which happens to be 64-bit as well as having a host of other improvements (some of these are made possible by the larger instruction width, some are just incidental).

More RAM. Improvements in visuals, loading times, makes the CPU run more smoothly, etc.

More RAM yes. The rest not so much...

Well then huzzah for 64bit!

Yeah your smartphone was severly limited by 4GB of ram before 64 bits came and saved the day...

Here is a question for Samsung. Do they plan on running Android on this new Galaxy? Cause as far as I know, Androids run-time library is 32 bit. LOLz.

Oh, thanks god we have you! The company with thousands of people working should be hinted at your post about Android... *roll eyes*

Of course it will.

They all copy the big tech eventually. I'm actually quite surprised Apple hasn't added NFC to their phones yet. Its a great feature. I mean they copied the notifcations and many other features. It's just the way tech companies work.

Hell, if Apple gets the fingerprint scanner right where others failed in past, its very likely other OEMs will add that too.

Oh noez, the bit wars are back!

What does 64 Bit do? Well, it's twice the bits of 32 Bit, so DO THE MATH!

Seriously though, 64 Bit doesn't do anything. Especially on Android, since that system is 32 Bit. So what do you think a 64 Bit processor will do? There needs to be a new version supporting 64 Bit in the first place. And on top of that, every app needs to be rewritten. But even if that would happen over night, you wouldn't notice the difference.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

This is so 90's. Samsung should just announce GDDR5 for the new Galaxy.

Ex Graphics Whore.

According to my knowledge the 5S *has* NFC. And the fingerprint sensor? Really? With this your "password" is all over the phone! To me an absolutely useless feature in terms of "security".

I'll stick with my S3 thank you very much.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Samsung isn't stupid. They love marketing speak. "We got 64 bits!" sounds awesome in a press release or a commercial.

Same shit with multicore processors. before you roll your eyes next time check how many apps utilize more than 2 cores on Android. Yet we have 4 and 8 core processors coming out the woodwork.

I thought Jelly Bean was already 64 bit.  But considering both Qualcomm and Samsung are working on 64 bit CPUs, if it isnt already I would assume Google will be making it 64 bit.
