Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony's Press Conference has a 90% approval rate in Japan

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia’s 2013 press conference is history. The PS4′s Japanese release date has been revealed, and we have not one, but two new PlayStation Vita models coming (even if one doesn’t have its own screens and controls), but since a lot of the content was targeting the Japanese viewers, did they like it?

According to Nico Nico’s rating system, hell yes, they did.

After the broadcast a menu was displayed to let the viewers vote their appreciation of the conference, and the results was pretty much a landslide victory for the positive options. Here’s a  breakdown:

  1. It was very good: 70.6%
  2. It was pretty good: 18.1%
  3. It was average: 5.1%
  4. It wasn’t very good: 2.4%
  5. It was bad: 3.8%

That means a positive response that gets very near to an overwhelming 90%. You can see a screencap of the result at the bottom of the post.

Personally, while I was a bit disappointed by the almost criminal lack of The Last Guardian andPersona 5, My vote was firmly on option 2. The PlayStation Vita TV really surprised me, and It’s really not so easy to surprise me nowadays, at least not that much. What’s your vote?

If someone is bothering to watch a Sony press conference, odds are that he is predisposed to liking Sony's press conference.

Dat FFX model! I hope it comes to west.

and they still wont buy the ps4 since console gaming is pretty dead over there

granted they wont even look at a xbox one lol

Well, most of those votes were probably for the Psycho Break and Yakuza trailers.

That's a very reasonable explanation.

All I expected was PS4 release date so Vita TV wa sbig surprise to me (PSV Slim also curious).

WiiU had a great launch in Japan. I don't think console gaming is dead yet.

Sony press conferences are dominated by Sony fans.

Why wouldn't it? A lot of game announcements, new console iterations revealed, that was probably the most exciting Sony conference this year except for the February reveal if you're the target audience. The only low point was the PS4 release date, a lot of people may feel dissapointed.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I went in expecting nothing (TGS is a week away) so I was blown away.

Better than Gamescom I'd say.
