Nagoshi promises 'super update' on Meiji era Yakuza.

The latest update on Yakuza: Ishin is coming September 9.

“The venue for the Olympics will be decided on Sunday,” Yakuza series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi said on a blog post.

Tokyo, Istanbul, and Madrid, are in the running as candidate cities to host the Olympic Games in 2020.

“But, on Monday, we’ll dispatch the super latest information on Yakuza: Ishin.”

Monday is also the date of Sony’s Japanese PlayStation press conference, which will be live streamed with English translations, and is where the domestic release date of PlayStation 4 is expected to be announced.

Nagoshi previously said Yakuza 5 would be the final Yakuza game on PlayStation 3. A platform for Ishin has yet to be announced, leading many to believe it is a PlayStation 4 title. Nagoshi also said a platform announcement would arrive before the Tokyo Game Show in Chiba later this month.

Bet With Zero: He says WiiU and XB1 gap will be higher than 1.9M by end of 2014, i say it will grow smaller or vanish.

Bet with Pezus: i win if Watch dogs sells more on PS3+360  than on next gen PS4 + Xbox One. winner gets 1 month sig control

Bet With JoeTheBro: He says WiiU in Jan 2013 > XB1 Jan 2014, i say the opposite.

Well, don't care about the yakuza franchise, but I guess it's rather cool for Japanese gamers if it's a ps4 exclusive.

I doubt its a PS4 game, does anyone know how profitable Yakuza 5 was for them?

Of course it's a PS4 exclusive. Be silly to be any other way, since that where the fans will flock. The news I'm looking for is an update on Atlus, which will cause me to sell a kidney if Sony added them to their first party greatness!

Why wouldn't it be a PS4 game? That's where they make their money on the franchise. PlayStation systems. Only two other scenarios: PSVita (unlikely), or PS3 (no). AFAIK, Yakuza is always profitable.

It's be silly to go with an install base of 0 vs an already established console.. Probably a good thing you dont run a development company.

If it is PS4 exclusive dont expect it til 2015.

Oh I am curious how Yakuza sales are. It being Japan exclusive is meaningless because PS3 and PS4 wont be region locked so the games should be getting a great boost from US gamers importing it... If there is any truth to region locking beig bad that is. Ouch 500k for the last 3 games. I thought region free was going to benefit games like this but I see it was just a talking point after all
