Nothing surprising. Nintendo asked (maybe?) to some third parties (which I honestly doubt) for the development of the Wii U, but not every third party. Plus, they wanted to convice them to develop for it once the console launched or just few months before its launch.

Seems like this won't be fixed ever.

Unless 3rd parties want to throw more money at a SKU that is so different and they do have finite money. And unless ninty is going to change how they do things which they are not then no it wont be "fixed"

what is their to fix really? Nothing has really changed. It looks like if you're a Ninty fan and you dont want to miss out on a lot of games. PS xbox or PC you have to get. Thats the way it is, deal. If you dont care about 3rd party games then stick to Ninty and nothing has changed. If you dont care about Ninty games then stick to one of hte other machines nothing has changed.

Yep. A PC will be the smartest way and from now on being excited in new handheld/homeconsole solely because first party and the few exclusive third parties. It is like Nintendo simply don't want to fix it.

They dont really get it. nintendo is not interested in multi-platform games. They want exclusives. Thats why they give you a unique setting to work on. Its part of the strategy.

even if we say thats true. Thats a hell of a gamble, it worked on WIi...kinda to a certain point. But lets be real, WIi U is no WIi can they really expect 3rd parties to spend even more money on a system that isnt doing to hot install base wise to put out a Wii U exclusive? Nope and no one in the right mind could blame them. Hell there barely putting out multiplats.

ITs their job to make it work by selling the system. They have blockbusters and a price cut for this christmas. The system should soar on sales.

no its not the 3rd party's job to sell a system, never was never has been. THat is the sole job of whoever is making said system. SHOULD is the operative word here, why should a 3rd party place its faith on a system that might or might not sell. Ubi tried that with Zombi U...didnt work. Tried it with Red Steel it did work. Point is they dont have to make a gamble when their are two systems(three if we include PC) that already have a fair install base each. and there succesors are coming out and one of them cant even keep up with preorders. (xbone, not so much) They are not at Ninty's mercy, those days are long done

IMHO, Ninty was never intersted in fixing anyting. THey sure as hell burned a lot of bridges with N64, GC they seemed to actually try and for my money it had the best 3rd party support of the post SNES era. Wii had the most but god they were mostly shovelware, thats cool if that was your thing, but if you wanted to get the lasted goodies from third parties, you were SOL. WIi U is still very early, but i dont know, It looked great at launch, but games got cancelled and there was bunch of droughts, its looking worse than WIi. At least with that it had the shovelware to make it look like it was gettng something.

Sounds a lot like the 3DS.  If their first party games can't move the Wii U during this holiday season and next year then they probably will sell less than 50m.  If it picks up to decent pace then I expect at least 80m lifetime for the Wii U.

Yeah, it actually feels like they simply want to sell their own software and care for just few big names/companies, but only certain ones. For example Capcom with Monster Hunter, and basically is one of maybe the two or three third party games they care.

If things doesn't go well this holiday season, it will be very bad for Wii U the rest of the cycle. And I thought they learned from the Wii. So naive.
