"Filmmaker Uwe Boll, infamous for unleashing some of the most terrible movie adaptations of video games this side of Super Mario Bros., is threatening to make a sequel to 2007’s Postal.
Boll has taken to Kickstarter to shake down the internet for cash and scrape together the $500,000 he wants.
“It’s time for Postal 2,” declares Boll in the attached video. “This is the only reason I went on Kickstarter, or wherever I am right now.”
“You have to pay it, because nobody else will pay it, so you have to give me money that we do Postal 2.”
In the supporting text Boll promises Postal 2 will be a controversial comedy and claims he’ll “take the biggest scandals of our democracy, like the happenings about Julien [sic] Assange and Edward Snowdon [sic] and show that there is no difference between our democracy and the prison camps in Russia or China.”
Whether he’ll spell Julian Assange’s and Edward Snowden’s names correctly in the film is unclear.
Boll already has one actress lined up for the film: Jackie Tohn. However, for just $7,500 you yourself can join the former American Idol Season 8 semi-finalist on screen, presumably taking the place of an actor Boll would have to actually pay.
Or for $10K you can be an executive producer.
“I’ve only one chance to do Postal 2. It’s with your help. We have to fulfil that goal, and we have to raise 500,000 bucks, here on Kickstarter.”
“So just give me some money and we do it.”
