Nobody's forcing me to eat olives but I'm still allowed to dislike them. ;)

enjoy them then and leave the rest vast majority of gamers enjoy not caring bout them

I'm not going to pitch a hissy fit if a trophy notification pops up but otherwise, yeah, they have zero meaning for me. I just simply do not care. Bragging rights is NOT the reason I play games.

I remember I had a discussion on these forums with someone who wouldn't play Valkyria Chronicles, one of my favorite games ever, because they didn't have trophies, and it just blew my mind. I absolutely cannot fathom that thought, that I would give up a fantastic game, just because little virtual ego strokers didn't pop up every time I loaded my gun or killed a bad guy. The whole idea makes me very, very sad.

It goes beyond simply not being able to understand it, I can't even imagine what it would be like to value trophies more than the games themselves. It's like someone buying a broken down, hideous car for $200, then putting $900 rims on it--which, yeah, I've seen people do that, as well.

Same here, I hate achievements and trophies. It exploits the OCD nature in me and makes it so that I feel less satisfied playing non-trophy games on my consoles.

I just find it really hard to play games that dont have them. I enjoyed gaming alot more when they weren't around -.-

That sucks dude. I hope you find a way around this. As of now it seems like you are enjoying trophies meta game more than actual game.

Trophies in a nutshell:

I couldn't care less about someone's trophy list, but I'll be damned if my list isn't good.

Once upon a time we had unlockables... Now we just have achievements. I don't care about achievements one way or another, but I feel that many developers have used it as a way to avoid creating real incentives to complete tasks.
