What do you think?

I don't know exactly what she did for that scene to happen. But a punch in the face later was not necessary, that was abuse of power. All the other one did was try to stop her from being arrested. Trying to push away a cop is not assault especially when he reacted like that.

Also, what's wrong with people? Why watch, just do something to help!

Some of you motherfuckers are really funny. And I don't mean humorous. I honestly have to wonder, if you'd be saying "the bitch deserved it" if she were a skinny, cute little white girl. Sorry, but that seems to be the facts of our sordid society, and yes, I am inferring it would make a significant difference in many of your opinions.

That is an incredibly presumptuous, ignorant, disgusting insinuation. It's the sort of statement a rude coward would post to feel smug about his own superiority.

Honestly, you should be ashamed.

so? i get a fine when I drive 2 miles too fast then the speedlimit.. its not horrible but should we just let it go?.. and besides.. if you go jaywalking when you see that cop car like that then you a clearly provoking it..

protecting us from ourselves is not the role of government. protection from government is the role of government.

they are protecting the other people of stupid people who drive too fast and go on jaywalking..

what happens when stupid ppl get protection from stupidity? they breed stupidity.
:) taxing our poor decisions or 'idiot proofing' is a lose/lose situation. Unless you're a politician.

Great picture, just says so much about American society (and probably the rest of the western world too)

I suppose he could have sprayed her in the face with pepper spray, or clubbed her with his baton. That doesn't really sound like a huge improvement, though.

And what exactly should people have done? Even assuming that the punch itself was some sort of "abuse of power," he did nothing wrong except for the single punch.

If she done something generally wrong. People, instead of watching could of helped the police men or the women depending on what they though. Unfortunately to people there it is a fight and is seen as entertainment and so do nothing. Did she even do anything that is actually a crime?

Initially, it was jaywalking. When he tried to cite her, she pretty much ignored him and tried to walk away. He dragged her back, and she started a fuss, so he decided to handcuff her. Then her friend (the one in pink who got punched), came at him as he was trying to restrain her, shoving him and grabbing his arms, and when she wouldn't back off he punched her.

As far as I can tell, it was pretty much SOP until her friend started pushing him around and he punched her.

It's amusing: the video was intended to help the lady who was punched in the face but it provides clear evidence of assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

How dare he punch that woman who assaulted him for doing his job.
