Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation : Those games should be free.

I'm not even going to read the rest of this thread. I 100% disagree with the assessment that PS1 games on the PSN should be free. If PS1 games should be free, then I guess all NES, GB, SNES, GBC, GBA, N64, PS2, XBox, DS, Gamecube, and PSP games should be free because they're all on "old systems" with "old games"

Since games for nearly all of these systems are dead (DS and PSP are the only still alive ones, PS2 only has that one game left), "we've already supported the games well enough for them to be free." RIGHT?

Makes no sense. Even if I took off PSP, DS, XBox, PS2, and GC, that's still a lot of games that you think should be free and that's just dumb.

edit: even putting this solely to Sony, there's absolutely no reason they should be free.  The only reason to make it free is if you make some subscription model where you pay monthly fees (I think Sony is already doing something like this) to play a selection of games for free for a limited time.
I should clear up that the service I'm referring to would be something like Netflix, but with games.

Yes digital copies of those "old" games should be free imo. And ? What's the problem with that ?

You are on a forum you know, you can speak here, nobody will hurt you.

What the problem is is that it's completely dumb and you should give up on the idea because the only way it will happen will be either the way I described (subscription model), having advertisements, or use the F2P MMO model.

When you once have your own business i will be your best customer as long as you exist.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

"So...clearly some effort have gone into these games but they should still be free?"

I've never spoke about free ps2 games. I just said they were overpriced by a lot. And I said it in my first post =/

Ps2 HD port are being sold like they costed some millions to make, but we all know that's not the case at all.

@OP, I think getting a job would help you quite a lot. ¬_¬

Are you going to complain that you don't receive free copies of old movies released in Blu-Ray? What about books? Do you complain that you don't have access to their e-book versions, even though you have their physical counterparts?

Seriously, you don't make any sense, and it's really aweful to read your replies as you're not even close to being ready to admit it.

I don't think Sony can control the price on most of those games.

HD remakes are very cheap.

You normally get more than 1 game for 1/2 the price of the normal price of 1 released today, usually with improved visuals and added extras.

If anything, that's a great deal, 2-3 games for £20 is a lot more than we can ask for.

If you want to, you can always find these things cheaper, it's really not that hard.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

What are you....crazy?

Yes they can. Once you put a game on a plateform, the plateform owner can do everything they want with it. Think about steam explosive sales.
