Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Vita won't work as extra PS4 controller

Why would you want it to act as another controller? It's not necessarily the most comfortable thing to hold.

Why would anyone want to use it? It's not very comfortable and those analog sticks are horrible for console gaming. Then there's L2/R2 or L3/R3. It isn't practical.

If the game is going to be playing on the TV, I'd much rather use a real controller so it doesn't bother me much. As long as I can play PS4 games on the vita via remote play, I'll be happy.

(P.S. has anyone clarified if the PS4 can be used for Netflix, etc during remote play?)

Why would you want to do it? Vita has its own Netflix App.

I'm gonna buy a 250$ Vita to use as a controller instead of a 60$ DS4.

Damn I'm intelligent as fuck.

No, I think the logic is; Yay! I can use my PSV that I already own as a controller.

Or you could use the controller that comes with the PS4 you buy. YAY

Yes, but if you plunked down $250 for a PSV and then you plunk down $400 for a PS4, one might hope that they might be able to get some use out of the PSV as a secondary controller so they don't have to plunk down another $60.

You didn't buy a PS Vita in hopes of being able to use it for a PS4. When Vita was released the PS4 didn't even exist to people. Saying that you were hoping to use a Vita as a possible controller on the PS4 is laughable. You guys are just trying to nit pick at every little thing. I don't even understand why you care seeing as you probably don't own a Vita and you most likely won't own a PS4.

Let's be clear here.  I didn't buy a PSV.

I'm arguing what might have been some people's thoughts.  Not my personal desires or beliefs.

I'm also not nitpicking.  I'm assuming there are people whose desire or belief was that they would be able to use their PSV as a controller for the PS4.  The argument I assumed, is that they have a PSV and they wanted something more from it than remote play on the PS4.

I didn't write the article.  I don't hold those desires or beliefs.  I'm just posting an article that confirms that no, you cannot use it as a controller.

Why is this so difficult to comprehend?  I mean, apparently you can fathom that the PSV isn't a DS4 controller and you wouldn't spend $250 on a PSV over a DS4.  So why can't you put together the logic that formulates the understanding that I'm posting an article.  Not holding those beliefs or for that matter desiring that feature.

That would have been a neat feature, though I doubt heavily used, but alas it isn't possible.

The PSV is not a DS4! Why in the world would anyone EXPECT them to be interchangeable? Sure in that situation it would be nice to save $60 but it's a silly thing to argue about.

I'm just replying to you so you can read my previously posted comment.  It applies to you as well I guess.

Why oh why is this even an issue? Vita will be great for remote play, but it aint no ds4.

Because hitting on cripples is fun on the internet. Its Vita and the Wii U. People love their little dramas. Its getting beyond boring to be hitting the same issue time and again.

I agree with the bolded and I think every reasonable gamer would agree with the bolded.

The rest of your post just corrupts what you are trying to say. Throwing out those five paragraphs puts you and me on the same page.
