Americans, giving away their rights since 2001, for some false sense of security Oussama ben Laden did a pretty nice job

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

well if that 250 million is true then thank god
that's that many people that are not polluting, taking up space, and needing employment.... I for once think we are 3 billion to many but that's a completely different debate....

but anyway the lemming I am is fine in that corporate materialistic world of convenience and luxury leave my "brand new world" alone.... I have absolutely no worries to be in one of those 250 million unlucky bastards.... and if gov and corporation have money and resources to waste on me good for them.... I have my utopias but I lost my disillusions of them ever coming to life in my life time several years ago.... I still follow the venus project every now and then though http://www.thevenusproject.com/

Before prism I wouldn't have thought twice about kinect, but now I can't fathom why someone would willingly put a camera and microphone in their living room. All that info IS going to go to the government.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

and they'll have absolutely no use for it....
btw before prism if the gov felt the need to spy on you they already did.... through regular phone communication, isp, e-mail providers, banks, credit card company, etc.... nothing really new here.... and i'll put a Kinect in my house because there is more chance i'll be killed by a flying whale than having any problem because of Kinect.... they won't collect any more data than what they need at a corporate level and if the gov ask for data it will be only to get useful information on persons of interest non of which I am and any normal person should be worried about....

MS doesn't WANT to, the federal government demands it from them.

And if you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about. The government doesn't care about petty crimes.

This is getting out of hand with paranoia taking the front seat. Having Kinect mandatory is supposed to enable a unified kinect userbase and its features are to set it apart from PS4. Its not like the #1 priority was to collect data. This makes 0 sense.

Most of our lives just don't interest the government. See my sig lol......they don't have random employees who are going to look through hundreds of hours of us playing COD marathons just to look for a sentence that links them to terrorism

If any of you people think Sony is not required to do the same exact stuff, you're delusional.

But apparently Microsoft hate is cool these days and Sony NEVER does anything evil Microsoft does... /sarcasm

It's not just about Microsoft. Sony isn't any better, they just aren't bundling a camera and a microphone with their system.

who gives a shit. do you really think the nsa are going to post up video of you dicking around in lounge on the internet. thew whole point is to catch criminals. and they only ask for vids of people labelled as suspicious. they wouldnt have time to look at random info

That is exactly the kind of submissive and conforming attitude they want in their customer. Good job on doing your part.
