Forums - General Discussion - Mexico Takes Over America’s Spot as the World’s Most Obese Developed Country

This is stupid, Mexico is by far not the most obese country in Mexico the world, maybe the 2nd one, but NOT more than the USA.

I say this because I went to Chicago last year and I tried to look at some hot chicks or even guys on the street and ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS FAT, and my brother agreed (he lives there), he told me that at some point he was not looking for a hot girl anymore, but for a non-obese girl at least...

In comparision, no one of my friends is fat and only a few members of my family are, and while you walk in the streets you can actually see normal people

doesn't make any sense, does it?

btw: I am not attacking the USA at all, I am just trying to explain why these kind of "news" are absolutely manipulated

Well, while your evidence is purely anecdotal.  I do agree with you.

There have been other studies that show that immigrants from Mexico are thinner than their piers in the USA.  And after about 3-5 years of USA food, they get just as heavy as their piers.

Plus, I thought some little wealthy country in the Middle East was supposed to be the fattest.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

A lot of it has to do with lack of safe drinking water in Mexico, and their delicious, made-from-sugar-not-fucking-corn-syrup soda, that is widely available in lieu of questionable drinking water. So it's a country where a lot of people have to take in a lot of sugar just to get the hydration they need.

Is corn syrup really making the beverages in the US taste so bad?

I wouldn't say it makes soda taste bad.  It just makes it taste much worse then regular sugar soda.

It makes coke taste a lot worse then it does Pepsi.

Pepsi seems more built around HFC.  So "Mexican Pepsi" is hardly noticeably different.  While "Mexican Coke" is worlds better.

Though I don't drink Coke anymore after finding out they may actually be complicit in assassnations of union leaders in south america.

I'm not even sure if it's a lack of drinking water.  Coke just used to be a cultural luxuary, a sign of "making it" so to speak.

Coke is really just Mexico's biggest lifestyle brand.  It's that way in a lot of countries actually, being a sign of Americanization that also tends to localize with local bottling plants, lots of jobs and being a sign of affluence at first that is also dirt cheap.
