No idea how it works and you may be right (though I read somewhere else that that wasn't the problem), but lazy or not at the end of the day some gamers won't get to experience a game regarded by many as a masterpiece because of no bluray.

It will get ported to next gen almost guaranteed.

Kojima himself said that he'd love to see Legacy on the Xbox One (Or the Microsoft's console).

Thanks. Good to know. Though I was only referring to the current generation and the 360, since Sales argued that there was no need for bluray this generation.

They do help, though, I've always found that the mandatory installs on Ps3 render that ability useless =/

Guess Metal Gear Solid 4 is the exception that confirms the rule.

The 360 version can't fit on one disc, and the PS3 read speeds can't handle the streaming so pick your poison. I have no problem installing a game like this, anyone running open world games from the disc deserves all the stutter, pop-up and draw-in that they get.

MGS4 had some muddy and compressed textures so it could run on the read speeds.

I really don't know. I suppose.

Another victory for Blu-ray.

This if anything proves how unecessary bluray is in the current gen

Isn't the Metal Gear collection skipping 360 and with that MGS4 too because of no bluray? I know a lot of ms fans were hoping to play MGS4 one day on their 360, so I guess there are exceptions.

If a game like The Witcher 2 could be ported to the 360, trust me, it's because lazy development and not actually be able to do it. Uncomprised audio or something like that was the faulty, which took roughly 7 GB of space.

Actually Konami probably skipped 360 because they would have to port MGS4 and it wouldn't be financially atractive since it's a 5 years old games and MGS5 is coming.

This is an incredible feat on Xbox 360 given the apparent size of the game. The 8gb install for both versions is annoying though. But blu-ray paid off in the end.

Or they can put it on Steam so I don't need any discs.

it would probably take all day to download if they did that. It wouldn't suprise me if GTA V was bigger than Max Payne 3 which was about 35gb
