True, never thought of that, they did say the map is huge so they might be forced to do this.

I've never minded disc swapping. I'm glad it's a mandatory install though, hopefully it means better gameplay in terms of performance.

That was kinda thrown out the window with Halo 4. It had a mandatory install for multiplayer.

But Halo 4 was still usable without a mandatory install, right? One just wouldn't be able to use all features  without installing - like in Forza 4(?) where one needed to install the second disc in order to use all cars/tracks?

I always thought that this was kind of the only allowed compromise solution.

Microsoft does not care about that anymore. If you don't have a harddrive with 8gb free you will not be playing this game. But if you are serious about gaming you should have a harddrive. And if not this game is going to make you buy one.

So you would be fine disc swapping every 8 miles or so. No this is a open world game. It needs to just run. This is a smart move. I might just cancel my ps3 preorder and get it on 360 (I am running out of space on my ps3 and don't want to buy a bigger harddrive).

No, USB memory sticks can be used for storage on the 360.

You can buy a 16GB stick for $10 - 20. Depending where you shop.
