Ballmer is a billionaire. He is at #51 on Forbes richest people on the planet. I don't think he cares about salary either.

I think that's the purpose, yes.  Since that's not really all that much for the CEO of a large corporation to earn, however, I don't think many people are going to actually be outraged.

So, the CEO of Sony earns about as much as Miyamoto?

Seems quite low for a CEO of a major corporation. Also Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities in the world so the real value of his salary is lower than CEO's with a similar salary in the United States.

What has he done though that is so great in his time as CEO? Sony continues to make big loses with the exception of the last quarter which was only profitable because they sold away assets.
