Anybody who's known me on VGC, probably knows me notoriously for underpredicting Gran Turismo 5's sales. I recall I predicted 8.5 million, and now it's looking to hit 11 million soon.

However GT5 is a 3 year old game now, and almost went on record as the only GT game for the PS3....well until now.

Gran Turismo 6 releases in Q3 2013, but will it break 10 million units sold like every other GT game other then GT2?

Predict Lifetime and Week 1 sales!

Things to consider:

PS4 is releasing around the same time with DriveClub. This could hurt sales, not only because of competition between the two 1st party games, but because GT6 could release after the launch of the PS4. GT6 would be the first GT game to release after a successor console was announced. GT4 released 2 years before the PS3 in Europe, and just a bit less in NA.

GT2 was the lowest selling GT game, and it released only 10 months before the launch of the PS2 in NA and Europe.

PS2 was backward compatible with PS1, so GT2 was playable on PS2 systems, same with GT4 and PS3, but GT6 will not be playable on a PS4.

This is also one of Sony's last 1st party games for the PS3, so that could help sales (or hurt it) since people who don't upgrade to an 8th gen console won't have as many games to debate between.

I've been horribly wrong before, so don't listen to any of my arguements.

My prediction is 8.5-10 million lifetime , if I had to be specific, 9.5 million. I think week 1 sales will be slightly higher then GT5's at 2.6 million. Quote me on this if you like, lets see if my prediction capabilities have improved over the 3 years I've been here.

I think around 8 million since there'll be a new generation around the time of release. However the game really has improved physics drastically so car fanatics have their perfect game. But there is not a lot information available either. If it's a good game then it might even hit 10 million again if sony is bundling with a cheaper PS3 during holidays.

if it just released on ps3. it will sell no more than 8 million, most likely 7 million.
if it also releases on Ps4 it well sell a combined 12-13 million.

First year as in 2013,as in first 52 weeks right? Make sense, stronger week 1, same 1 year, less overall. Slightly more frontloaded.

What do you mean 2nd best GT? What's your favourite? Also since you're guessing DriveClub, want to guess Forza 5 sales? I think Forza 5 will outsell DriveClub, mainly because MS will bundle it like hell, since it has a wide audience, and makes a great bundled game.

First year is like two months... November/December... GT5 did over 5 million 1 month and 4 days.... this time GT5 will be release early November and not late.

GT5 will be the second best selling GT ever... just that... it will outsell GT4 but not GT3.

Forza will sell less than 5 million but over 3 million... Xbone will sell less than PS4 and/or Xbone 360... so Forza will sell less too... yeap DriveClub will sell over 1 million units than Forza 5.

My favorite GT is GT5 but well every new interactio is my favorite GT lol... it's aways seems to be a step ahead in the dribing simulation.
