Damn, so it really is just a glorified demo then. Wait then why the hell is there a 10 person limit to a demo? Can't everyone just dl and play the demo.

This is what I don't get about this, why have all the restrictions of one at a time, only 10 friends, etc.  When they could just implement this to all digital games they sell, its stupid.  Makes me wonder how true this really was but I doubt we will ever know for sure.

Ya ms themselves were pretty cryptic on the exact features of family share. Honestly, it really did sound too good to be true though(the original function of family share I mean).

On a more serious note though, I wonder what this means for the future of the brand.

Sadly... I think they'll rebound from this more than they ought to, and they'll go for it again when they think they can. But maybe this time they'll kiss us before they try to fuck us. (And by "us" I mean anyone who is gullible enough to buy anything from them again after this. I'm done with them, permanent like.)

Man, if they actually went through with this, using it as a major feature, it would have been hilarious. The brand would have literally SEGA'd.

There was obviously something wrong with it because they hardly ever talked about it and when they did it was always very vague.  I think everybody was just waiting for the inevitable 'but' because it was way too good to be true.

Microsoft probably realized it couldnt survive the blowout of the revelation that the only positive benefit to their drm strategy was just a smokescreen and scrambled o change it.

What I dont understand is how microsoft even went down this path in the first place.  Doesnt a big company like this have access to market research that could tell them that it isnt going to work?  Or how the months of negative reactions to rumors of the features might represent consumer interest?  Honestly, I think xbox has some pretty sick games... But they appear to have some serious issues with their leadership.

They need to do some serious reorganization of their leadership, and not just their xbox division.  The company has been coasting for far too long and dont seem to have the ability to identify consumer desires anymore, or at least the ability to anticipate them.

that being said, I think Microsoft can change.  They definitely need some new blood and a new direction, and hopefully they will realize that.  Basically, dont write them off yet, they can still change and become better.

This is just so bloody hilarious

Thats what happens when you have a bloodsucking businessman at the head of a tech company. They need someone who actually understands the tech world at the head of their company. Until then they will continue to fail and fall behind. Balmer has to go, he has created a culture in microsoft that is anti-progress. The only thing he is good at is making back door deals with his golf buddies. He only thinks about his big money partners, hes incapable of viewing anything from a consumer perspective.

Last I saw, Microsoft were delivering record profits. And as far as progress goes, every time Microsoft changes something the whole internet goes into knee-jerk uproar.

CBOAT confimed that... 60 min gameplay like the Trials in PS+.

but but... innovation and the future of gaming....

Can't believe anyone fell for that, I told people at the start it's not what you think it is. The limit of people was way too high. Sony learned their lesson with 5 and MS was going to do ten... yeah right.

Record profits? Record profits by whose standards? They sure as hell aren't beating apple and they definitely aren't doing better than they were during Bill Gates time. They went from the number one tech company to number 3. Their stock went from 60 during Bill Gates era to high 20's and low 30's. Windows 8 is failing harder than Vista. Windows Phone can't even compete with blackberry and Windows Surface is just an all around failure in every sense of the word.

Internet goes into an uproar because microsoft never provides change that people actually want. They are clueless and out of touch.
