Why would I? If I want to drink tap water I can do that at home. When I'm relaxing in a cafe I'll drink soda water. I doubt you'd even get tap water in most cafes or restaurants here. Unlike in the US I don't think those places HAVE to give you access to free tap water.

Problem is they own Perrier and San Pellegrino.... They're monsters.

I'm from Germany. We don't drink those fancy Italian and French waters. Teinacher is where it's at :P

Was bitte ist Teinacher?  (What is teinacher supposed to be?)

I was working 2 years for Kaufland (Huge supermarket chain) and never ever heard of it.

Let me guess, you're from middle-northern Germany?

Here in Baden-Württemberg Teinacher basically covers the market above Discounter-Soda but below San Pellegrino/Perrier water. You can buy it anywhere (as opposed to San Pellegrino) and it is the water that will be served at most cafes and restaurants. Really good^^

BTW: We should claim this thread for Germany. Now that even Barozi has derailed it...

I knew Nestle isn't exactly a saint, but this is some fucked up stuff.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Would be interesting to know local bottled water prices from all of you guys.

Well I am in Berlin right now and you have to pay at least 0.19€ for 1.5 liters ~ 0.396 US gallons.
(cheapest 1.5 liters available "Aldi, Lidl, etc. discounter product".  Brand-crap is more expensive!)

0.19€ = $0.25 = £0.16

per liter
= 0.1266€
= $ 0.1684
= £ 0.1078

per gallon
= 0.4779€
= $ 0.6357
= £ 0.4069

Btw this is interessting:

= Tap water price per 1000 liters ~ 264.17 US gallons in € =

<

Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, France, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Canada, South Africa  and USA.

Btw Germany is #1 in tap water quality (there are some small towns across europe that have superior quality because they get their water from their own source)

Can someone write a brief about this article ? It really sounds interesting but It's too long ..

Try just reading the first two paragraphs. You won't want to stop reading. I'd do a brief but the message is pretty strong I don't want to reduce it.

Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg: Prices for cheap bottled water should be around the same, maybe a few cent more.

Who the hell is drinking bottled water in the year 2013? Unless you are on vacation in the third world.

I only drink bottled water. I've never tasted tap water that tastes as good as bottled water.

Buy a water filter pitcher and keep in refrigerator. Even the worst tap water tastes good when it is cold. Bottled water has plastic chemicals that leach into the water from the plastic bottles so it is usually a lot worse than tap water.

You don't have to live in the third world though.
I was in New York this year and the tap water tasted horribly. Probably also due to the old pipes in the houses. It was drinkable in the Museum of Natural History though.
Also went on vacation to Turkey several times (Turkey is not third world). Even in the hotel districts in the various cities and towns you're told to better not drink the tap water.

Yeah, in Las Vegas the water is pretty awful too.

Tap filters work though. (But are expensive.)

Where i was from in Ohio had some awsome tap water though.  I
