Did anyone feel like the games they watched were for a new gen of consoles. Did you really get that feeling of "Damn no way what they are showing could be done now, my mind is blown". Well I'm here to tell you that you are lying to yourself.

What was shown over this past e3 was smallest bump in graphics we have ever seen going from one gen to another. As a matter of fact if it was never known that they were showing off new consoles and just the games were shown alone I bet most people reactions would have been "Damn that's a pretty impressive PS360 looking game" not "That's impossible no way is that current gen,  my mind is blown". But I guess that is how the mind works, you hear new consoles so you convince yourself that yes these graphics are truly impressive.

For comparisons sake look at this:

That is a clear leap from one gen to a next, no questions needs to be asked , nobody has to point out that their is difference texture or lighting quality, no will if the pics were bigger then you would see it, any layman could tell the superiority in the graphics without getting into any technical detail.

I agree that the jump is the smallest between generations so far, but look again at the MGS4 versus MGS5 comparison.

To me it is a huge leap and when I watched the conference where the game transitioned from cut-scene to that gameplay scene with the horses my mind was blown. It's almost photorealistic.

Well, the graphics will get better over time. I mean compare Halo 3 and Halo 4, they were both in the same generation but dat graphical leap!

you are also comparing Launch titles VS Mid life titles (In in famous case its towards the end actually)
