Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is CoD in trouble?

We learned yesterday that Battlefield 4 will run at 60fps on consoles. Combine that with the fact that it is far superior visually, and has a much more expansive and vast multiplayer experience.......is CoD finally going down this year.

I don't see how anyone who puts the two titles next to one another couldn't come away laughing at Activision's meagre efforts.

That's what they said with Battlefield 3 and nothing happened.

of all the graphically amazing games that are already avialable this gen I highly doubt this will be a factor.

all Activision has to say is NEXT CALL OF DUTY WIT TEH DOGZ!!! and people with go out and buy...

Titan Fall and Destiny look more fun that Battlefield. I know not many people buy Battlefield for their single player but they are just really bland compared to COD.

Am skipping COD this year as this is the year of Luigi and TLOU.

CoD will continue to have the highest sales of any FPS for some time. And it just isn't like saying Battlefield's multiplayer is better. They are just different. CoD is way easier to get into; for example it's maps are smaller and thus faster to learn.

bizarre-galaxy.de - My Browsergame, but sadly only in german :(

You can play as an octopus, though!

Call of duty black ops 2 was absolutely dissapointing... No way im spending £40 on a new COD game ever again unless its like world at war cause that was a epic game on the nintendo wii :)

I doubt it. I think the fact that they weren't at either press conference does say something. I also think that Battlefield 4, Destiny and Titanfall all look far more interesting

Having said that, the only thing impressing me with BF is the MP so far (THEY DESTROYED A WHOLE BUILDING?!?!?!??!?!?) and the others are basically MP only. CoD hasn't talked about is MP. I don't think they are in any trouble, their brand is just too strong, it will be a while before it goes away

AND BF is the only competitor this holiday. It might take away a few million sales, but it will still be above 20m. It has dealt with Halo before, it can deal with a better BF

CODs better days are definitely behind it, but expect it to stay at the top or near the top of fps for years to come.

The way Activision is promoting Destiny says it all.

The BF4 MP looked fucking amazing, and I usually don´t give a fuck about Military shooters, but that looked truely nextgen. And I really want to play it right now. If they would´ve shown CoD at the MS conference it would look like a PS3 game
