So guys I finally got a Wii U, and I was wondering if I could watch tomorrow's Nintendo Direct from it, does the Wii U browser support the player nintendo uses to stream these directs?

Isn't there an app for it ?

Try going into wii mode and download the Nintendo channel, it has all the content they'll show I assume.

Just go to e3.nintendo.com when the live stream begins and click on the video.
Nintendo changed their Directs to the same format Youtube uses, so normally it works. I watched the last two on my gamepad and I was even able to watch the Xbox One reveal and E3 on it, so it would be weird if it didn't.

And @FrancisNobleman, unfortunatly you can't download the Nintendo Channel anymore in Wii mode, only on normal Wii's...

Yes. Its browser will play it just fine. However, it will also be in the eShop very quickly as well. Maybe even same time.

Have you ever seen a direct live on the eshop? I've only noticed it after (but quick as you said).

The Browser the Wii U is equipped with can handle pretty much any video. And Nintendo, I think, even mentioned something about watching and posting about their E3 Conference on the Wii U.
Look for the E3 Nintendo Direct Community or something, there should be one.

Not live, but this one is for E3 and may it will be there at same time. Its pre-recorded afterall. But eitherway it will be there soon after.

For me this plays at 7am, so I'll just watch after the fact anyways. I'll be busy that early in morning.
