Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are Sony fans worried about XB1's 15 exclusives?

So, MS has announced that they have 15 first party exclusives in the works for the X1's first year on the market. 8 of these will be new IPs. That's fantastic news. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, everyone here seems to be deflecting this statement whenever it's brought up, with something along the lines of "lolz....they'll all be shitty kinect games!"

So to the people saying this, be honest......you're worried. Sony fanboys have always been on about how the PlayStation has so many more exclusives than Xbox, and will often hype them to death, even if they are of mediocre quality. Starhawk, Twisted Metal, and PlayStation All Stars come to mind. With so many new titles in the works, and Microsoft's investment in building new dedicated studios with top personnel, they have the ability to potentially leave Sony in the dust in terms of quality exclusives.

I look at what Sony has announced so far this year, and I honestly have to ask myself what they're thinking. Killzone, and Infamous are declining franchises, sales data here backs this up, yet these are the games they prepare for PS4 launch? Makes no sense. Gran Tourismo is Sony's biggest system seller, and yet they plan to release the new game on PS3 instead of making it a PS4 exclusive launch title? Just not smart.

Now MS hasn't made, or published too many different AAA games this gen. There's pretty much Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza, Alan Wake, and Crackdown that I can think of, top of my head. I'm not counting things they published that went multiplat later. Now, of those 6 games I mentioned, 4 are big sellers, one is a cult hit, and the other has done moderately well, but disappointed last time out. So 5/6 games that MS backed strongly have gone on to become big hits. That's a damn good ratio. If even just half of the 15 games MS has in the oven for X1 are core titles, and not the "kinect crap" so many of you wish them to be, Sony will likely be severely outclassed with their first party content, because while Sony tries their hand at a lot of games, not many of them ever really take off.

I predict a lot of fanboys will be shedding some serious tears after E3

no im not worried. why would i be? btw 15 exclusives isnt that a big deal. its a good number. but it seems like people think that sony wont even be able to come close to it.

Edit - also why did you make this thread? you know exactly the type of responses that will happen and exactly the type or arguments it will spur. things are way out of control already, go take a quick view at the number of people banned and see the huge amount of people banned over PS4/X1 arguments. this isnt making things any better

You see? You've become old. You don't party like it is 2006!

I don't see you asking that question in any other OP that could incite similar arguments. Is it because those all favor the Sony perspective?

If a forum operated on a basis of don't make threads that could start arguments which might potentially lead to bans, there wouldn't be very many threads in any forum.

I made this thread, because I see so much irrational bashing of MS, Xbox, and people who like either one here that I'm seriously starting to wonder if some of these people are just very insecure.

Yes im Worried Microsoft might actually give me a reason to buy the thing other than not having to press input on my tv remote.

its because your thread is made to antagonize users. i didnt post saying this in other threads because they discuss an issue related to xbox or ps4 or wiiu or what ever console/game. your thread on the other hand is made purely to antagonize other users.

have you actually played starhawk?

ironic though seeing as how you complain of irrational bashing when that's basically what your op is lol

So what we are saying is that because Microsoft have made 6 franchises and have had 4 of them sell well, it should make gamers want an Xbox One over a PS4?

I really don't get what you are saying. You are basically saying that Microsoft has a better rate for games that sell, which to me implies that Sony makes more games... Which is what I want as a gamer

I'm really confused

edited your title so people could possible have a clue what kind of thread they're getting into.

...

You'll play your 15 exclusives on Xbone and I'll play my > 5 exclusives on PS4.

Everybody wins.

But seriously, the thing about the whole "15 exclusives" for me was just that it seemed so out of place with the rest of the presentation. They clearly had no problem showing some of these games since we had Forza & Quantum Break (?) footage. I know, I know - "they're saving for E3!" But even just a little teaser - just a smidgen of anything else would've helped their presentation. They know what they're going up against since Sony showed 4 supposedly launch day exclusives on PS4. Half of that amount just seemed like an empty statement.

And as a PS3 fan, I know a think about empty statements, as I look to the space on my shelf where Agent, Versus XIII and The Last Guardian should be sitting.

In any case, no point worrying about it now. Not long left until E3 where we'll hopefully see the majority of both Microsoft's and Sony's hands played.
