I'm not saying PS3 will pass the Wii but there's a lot of games coming to PS3 this year and still the long waited 199$ price cut. Anyway in my opinion Wii won fair and square and they made billions.

Happened some kind of minor adjustments this week.

Last week gap: 77,221,659 - 77,183,123 = 38,536

This week gap: 130,349 - 90,010 = 40,339

If there numbers are right PS3 finally outsold 360 by ~1.7k

I won't mind if PS3 passes Wii. In fact, I plan on getting one soon once the price drop happens.

It all depends on how much PS3 will resist in the market. 

PS3 has another 2 years of good sales imo.

The HW numbers are up. A bit off-topic, but 360 is selling more in Europe than in the US, lol. The generation dying quicker in the US?

Anyway, congrats to PS3. Next week it will surpass 360. Deservedly too, imo. :)

The PSOne and PS2 sales continued well into their successors' lifecycles. The smaller country markets that can't afford new consoles will continue to purchase PS3s.

The holiday season will be a good indication too. PS3 seemed like the more deserving 2nd place spot anyway.

It will be interesting to see if the new consoles will immediately takeoff in sales against their predecessors.

I imagine PS360 will still look very appealing to consumers this fall  and they might receive  price cuts too.
