I'm sorry, but seriously, how do you defend what MS is currently doing? I will be keeping my PS3 if Sony goes that way too.

Your right they dont want a Steam Box.

They want an Xbox One and dont care about the Steam like features.

Im getring at 2 things.

1. Many of the people complaining are complete hypocrits because they also praise Steam

2. The Steamlike features wont hurt sales in America as most consumers wont mind the features and just want a new Xbox. For better or worse

Agreed. I think in due time the feature will actually be seen as a good and convenient thing.

Xbox One is VERY similar to Steam. That is an unarguable fact.

I'll be honest here and say that I think the AA battery thing is not that bad. Sure, pretty much everyone else has moved on from using them but I think it has its uses.

Overall, we were all VERY impressed with the Xbox One. I cannot wait for E3 to see the games too.

This.

People complaining, are seemingly folks who already, don't think much of the XBox 360, XBox Live, Microsoft - or anything they make.  Why would they be impressed or have anything good to say whatsoever?

It is similar because of the DRM and always online (one form or another - for steam its like a few weeks while for XBOX ONE so far confirmed once a day).

No used games.

Which is no different than online passes I think that they had on PS3 (not 100% sure if they had this if anyone can confirm).

 

But what other features does it make it similar to Steam?

Basically the entire way it runs games? What about the gaming side of it isnt like Steam?

It is not MS who is doing that... It is game industry in general...
And I like the fact that I can install the game and to do not require any disk to play.

For the rest; I do not care and if I want to buy a used game; what is the problem with buying it from the Sony/MS store instead of going to EBGames?
Trading games to friends... Well okay; we will have to deal with it... Now this is not bothering me like it is the end of world, not like few of you out there.

And good luck with that statement :) Not going with PS4/XboxOne just because of that. Because I highly doubt publishers will not do the same with the PS4 as they are losing a lot of money because of that (or opportunities if you prefer).

I'm not even mad about used games fee, as a programmer and hopefully a future dev myself I fully support that. The problem is that I don't always have the money to pay my internet bill so sometimes I won't have access to the internet for extended periods of time, so I won't have access to the system when that happens. Also I HATE it that they sacrificed specs for media features that I will never ever use, and even then it can't even do as much as most basic media servers, it has to be connected to a cable box to function properly.

I really do believe this is the end of xbox, I can see how it is going to pan out.
1st. The xboxone(god such a stupid name) will not sell well, probably marginally better than the xbox1.
2nd. The newly hired core first party devs will be let go because their games are not selling because the only people buying it are casual console users in the US.
3. When the following generation starts MS will try to focus on core gamers again but they will fail and then MS will discontinue the xbox brand.
