A lumia 900 series device sounds like it fits what your looking for.

I've had an iPhone 4 for 2.5 years now. I like it.... but there's some things I dont like. Closed source and iTunes. Meh. I want to change it up and go with an Android phone. It'll be much easier to download and transfer music between my laptop and phone.

What's most important to me:

Durability (wont crack when dropped)

Camera quality (took over 2000 pics on my iphone. Features like HDR and Panorama mode are big for me)

Size (something a bit bigger than iPhone, but not overly big like the Samsung Note)

Why would you switch to Android? ^^ *eyeroll* Android phones are junk, my dad had an HTC Evo 4g and he kept having to reboot it, it was so laggy, and made of cheap plastic. He switched to the iPhone 5. I still have the iPhone 4 as well and I plan to get the iPhone 5s in the fall. If I could pick a phone other than iPhone it would probably be a Windows phone, I really like the OS. You could give the Nokia Lumia 928 a try.

HTC ONE best phone right now.

S4, or Xperia Z, probably the best phones Android offers, you could also try Nexus 4 also a very good phone. But the first two are really big in size so you should see whether they fit your hand;
As a two-generation very happy Xperia user my recomendation goes to Xperia Z, don't have one personally but I've tried my friend one for some time and it's beastly, definately on par with S4 plus waterproof and way better design in my opinion.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

The three best Androids in my opinion are HTC One, Xperia Z and Galaxy 4. Of these, I would go for the HTC.

I am not a fan of iphones.

Dmick 90's opinion that Android phones are junk is objectively wrong. It may have been true two years ago but not any more.

I also like Windows 8 phones. In fact, I prefer them to either Androids or iphones. Check out the HTC 8x.

You pretty much perfectly described the Nokia Lumia 920. The thing is a tank, takes some of the best pictures for a cell phone and is 4.3 inches across. The only problem for you would be it is a pretty closed OS.

This

Or wait and get the 928

Xperia Z or if you can't afford that the Xperia T, both very good phones. You can't go wrong with a HTC one or Samsung Galaxy S4 either. Or if you want to look at windows phone 8, look at the Nokia Lumia 820 or 920.

Android is not like that anymore, it's a very stable system since Ice Cream Sandwhich (4.0) and Jelly Bean (4.1) came out. My phone runs on 4.1 and it never needs to reboot but neither did my old android phone have any problems

Look into Nokia Lumia 920, HTC One for and Xperia Z for android and well iPhone 5/5S if you want to stick to ios.

I am getting Lumia 920 for an amazing price. I am sure you can have it for a great price subsidized or just buying a new one without contract.

Edit: You are in land of long contracts. Rogers has Lumia 920 for $50 on two year contract. Fido and Bell have pretty good deals on Google Nexus 4. Awesome phones.
