I think it is easier for a developer to group consoles by power rather than when they came out, so for them to call something "next-gen" they need to see a step up in power. I mean you can group by {PS3, 360} and {PS4, 720, Wii U, Ouya, Gamestick}, but you can't make a game that is targeted to cover the entire generation without a lot of compromises, so they would never bother. But group by {Ouya, Gamestick}, {PS3, 360, Wii U} and {PS4, 720} and they can target the hardware properly, which is what they are all doing.

I mean the Wii U being able to do something that PS360 can't is as relevant as the Ouya being able to, it doesn't mean they are going to group it with the PS4 and 720.

True but then going with  NEXTGEN  which is a term some idiot must have come up with  is a poor decision (which btw is used inflationary since everything is still next gen even if its out for 3 years........)

I mean developers and publishers are lazy enough so they could at least say Playstation4 and Nextbox instead of NEXTGEN.  But I guess this is a general problem with the industry. idiotic interviewers  interviewing idiotic devs/publishers using idiotic terms like CASUAL, CORE, NEXTGEN, UNDERPOWERED....

Guess what industry! There was a time when you existed but those words did not!

:)

I thought we already saw BF3 running on Tegra 5 weeks ago. Didn't that pretty much confirm Frostbite mobile?

So....let me get this straight: Dice said that the Wii U was incapable of running the Frost Bite 2 engine....but they are now delevoping smartphone games with said engine ? Yeah...

They never said that. Their worry is whether their product is even of value on the Wii U home console. They'll still support the DS I'm sure. Phone gaming market is doing very well right now, so a cheap game can bring back tons of profit for them.

omg with the wiiu ea crap.

I wish people would just accept that there is no logical reason. Its just EA blacklisting Nintendo. That's it. Pretty simple and pretty obvious.

I will just copy and paste from my second post:

"FB3 has never been running on WiiU. We did some tests with not too promising results with FB2 & chose not to go down that path" implies that it is due to technical reasons, which is bullshit, because it is running on PS360 and smartphones !

Or maybe because the scaling doesnt meet their expectations.

Actually, EA has released more games for the Wii U in the past year than they have for the 3DS:
