The PS4 and 720 are both going to have the same level of competition. Both are battling their predecessors and a cheaper next gen system (Wii U) with arguably a better library of games. Not to mention the big Nintendo games that will be rolled out toward the end of the year.


Actually, no. The 720 and PS4 will be a leap in technology which means multiplats (The usual suspects) and more exclusives tailor made for the launch and exemplify the leap that has been made in technology.

so let me get this straight, nintendo's boss, who straight out lied about a 3rd party game being superior on his platform before, is saying there is a good chance that a franchise that hasnt been on their consoles for generations will be on their new platform when the developers of said franchise said themselfs that there isnt a port. yeah seems legit. 

That's what I was thinking. Call of Duty came to mind instantly. I will wait for the official word. Reggie as a source is probably worse than quoting Wikipedia (because of the aforementioned issue).

It's probably just you.  They're selling 25-35k a week right now.  LONG step to 100's of thousands.  Those games you listed are mostly available for 360 and ps3.

There has to be a super hyped game to push it where it needs to go. Mario is not what they need right now. Unless they have been working on a new 3D one for over a year. No rushed stuff! Mario Galaxy 3 could be alright. But they really need to bring it like they did on the Wii.
GTA 5 would sell much better if Nintendo put out some really big games this Christmas. Wind Waker remake does not count. It will do well, but is not what many want. Just forum Nintendo gamers.

I hope E3 shows us something.


Can't wait for E3.

He also said Black OPs 2 on Wii U is the best looking console version. Don't trust anything he says. It's all PR speak.

The best selling "Mature" games on the Wii was Resident Evil 4, with about 2.15 million sales. Admittedly, that was not a lot. But honestly, there were only ever about 40 M-rated games for the Wii, and they mostly included subpar Call of Duty ports, obscure horror games, and mediocre Action games. The PS3 in comparison has over 380 M rated games, and the 360 has over 400. Of course the HD twins will have more big sellers.

 

As for the Wii U, the third best selling game on the p[latform, ZombiU, is rated M.

Why do you you think there aren't many M-rated games on Nintendo platforms? Because they don't sell. So the chances of probalby the most contoversial M-rated franchise of all time appearing on the Wii U is very slim.

Did you notice all the mistakes in the article? He/she frequently confuses Xbox 360 for Xbox 720. Very unprofessional.

That article is nothing more than wishful thinking. He bunches Wii U in with the possible next-gen console version announcements. When people say Next-gen they usually leave out the WiI U if you haven't noticed by now. So don't take this article so seriously. They have no sources, its all just speculation.

Honestly, it will be ok but not special unless you love Wind Waker (which I do so...).

From a console stand point, it will be heavily dependent on how good the PS4 software performs when that is released. If Nintendo is to get a ground hold to stave off the other next generation systems this will be the Wii U's make or break year unless the unlikely happens and both Sony and MS drop the ball and release turds.
