I lol'd. They kill because they're radical?? Well duh, but they become "radical and evil" often times because countries like America invade and destroy their way of life. Look at how ruthless the Russians were with the Chechans. Chechans Muslims were not radical until the Russians started raping/murdering men, women, children, and the elderly.. Stop taking advantage of these poor people and you'll see them calm down and become less radical.

The only thing that's going to do it is economic and cultural development in the Muslim World. Pretty much every society goes through a period of radicalization, at the height of economic inequality that is spawned by economic growth, while further growth tends to even things out while better education and living conditions reaching all the people means the society generally becomes more peacable and more advanced. The social mores of western europe in the 1880s would be indistinguishable from the Muslim world of the 1980s, whereas a traditional society, while it's still traditional, tends to self-stabilize.

Radical Islam is like the devils the western world and latin america conjured up in their forward leaps: Communism, Fascism, and the bomb-throwing brand of anarchism, and the solution is much the same.

The Russians were at that for a long, long time before Wahabbism took over Chechen society. Stalin rounded them up and deported the entire population to Siberia, and they still didn't radicalize. Why?

Killing innocent civilians is not a logical means to that end, they do not target government or military targets, but innocent civilians who are not at fault. If they were not out to murder women and children on purpose, I could see your point, but these individuals are evil to the core. Where the fuck is individual responsibility in this equation? It is nobody's fault but the evil, murdering piece of shit who plants the bomb next to an 8 year old boy. What you refer to may play a role, but it is nobody's fault but that of the killer. Also, if they're just mad at us, why are they (the extremists) killing other (peaceful) Muslims on a regular basis?

So if education and economic prosperity is the key, why did two well educated men living in a very prosperous country do this? (not attacking that entire premise, those things would help at least to some degree... just a wondering). The larger Muslim world needs to address this problem internally. There are too many radical clerics out there preaching Jihad without any vocal condemnation from the Muslim populace at large or from other clerics. Prominent clerics should actively and publicly preach AGAINST jihad if they really believe in peace.

Tell muslims to get rid of the thought that religion is of any meaning in every-day life. The religios books are made from people which intended to get political power and to lead uneducated people. Times have changed in the western countries (mostly, at least) but in some countries religion dictates everything and blocks education and emancipation.

why is it that when western countries attack Muslims it's ok but when Muslims attack in an attempt to defend themselves in their own country it is an act of terror or even attack countries responsible for deaths of millions of Muslims it is an act of terror but the same can't be said about any western countries.
