I feel like the player movement is fast, when running or dodging. I hope that is because the player is at high level.
Also, I'm wondering what is that yellow moon where humanity used to be. Overall, I'm pleased with what I saw :)

Player movement is always dependent on equip weight, level has nothing to do with it. If you're under 25% equip weight, then every action is at it's highest speed (running, dodging, etc.) which seems to be the case in this video. I doubt they'll change that for DS2, since the current system is fine as it is.

Correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't played DS in a while, but doesn't endurance raise your equipment load, therefore making you faster in heavy equipment.

It does, but you could have the Inital endurance of any class and still be under 25% equip load by using the right gear. That's why there's a lot of low level runs on DS, without the fastest dodge/run, it would be impossible.

Currently this screams "Addon" to me, it doesn't feel different to DS1 at all yet. Won't judge the game yet though, after 12 minutes of gameplay (six after taking the useless blubber in the studio away).

I agree, there were no significant changes from Dark Souls at all. But for me it's a good thing. You don't have to change a masterpiece.

Hm, I would have appreciated a different looking overworld. It looks like a lot of assets from Dark Souls 1 were reused (maybe a slightly improved resolution) and the general design of the areas we've seen in this trailer also seems familiar to me. I have to say though, the screenshots are leagues ahead of the actual gameplay, I hope it is due to the gameplay being from a late alpha-footage at best.

True. DS2 is supposed to have a brand new engine but in this video it looked exactly like DS1 - even having re-used (or at least very similar) assets like you say.

Well this is Dark Souls 2 and not a different Souls game. The expectation would be for the core mechanics and gameplay to stay the same.

Im getting so pumped for this. I am a pretty new Dark Souls player. Just started a few weeks ago and I have to say I didn't realize what I was missing! A friend suggested Dark Souls to me and I kept putting it off, because he said it was different from many games I have played and I would die many many times. Well I finally said what the heck and got it. I have already put 95 hours into it within the past 3 weeks :). Thats how much it has drawn me in. And I have a full time job with a wife and child.....you can imagine how much sleep I have lost :)

And trust me, that I am not your solely role playing type gamer. I also love FPS games, RTS, and racing. The 3 games I was in the middle of playing were COD BO2, Forza Horizon, and Left 4 Dead 2. I have not even touched those games since starting to play Dark Souls. Seriously. And I know COD gets hated on a lot but Im one of those guys that plays the zombies and multiplayer fairly frequently. This game totally pulled me in. Im about to venture into the Demon Ruins with my first character. For some gamers this game may just infuriate them and cause them to rage quit permanently, but this game offers such a challenge that I just have to keep playing it for the fulfillment it brings when I conquer an area, or situation.

Dark Souls is one of the few games that bring back a serious challenge into gaming. It used to be most games gave a very hard challenge and now most seem like cake walks and hold your hand all the way through to please the casual crowd. Not this. You get no map, or quest list. Its just you, a world filled with horrifying, and unrelenting situations.

I watched the Dark Souls 2 gameplay and I must say I think they are approaching it mostly the right way. They are keeping the main things about Dark Souls the same. They have changed some minor things by the looks of it, except I too wonder what the symbol is that replaced the Humanity icon. But I was relatively pleased with what I saw. Graphical update, improved movements and AI with the same general mechanics. Plus some of those areas look very dark and creepy. I can hardly wait to see more.

I really hope DS2 fixes a few annoying glitches I´ve seen..enemies just disappearing, going through walls as if they were the ghosts from New Londo, arrows not hitting the enemy when you clearly see them hitting the chest area, etc

This is the true new footage.

Former something....
