That was AWESOME!!!
It's just that simple.
It came to my mind what the scene where he is crossing the bridge and all the dragons are flying around would look like on a Bethesda game.

That's because it's running on PC and they're actually trying this time. |
Is it confirmed that they're running on PC? Because from the icons in the UI, it seemed like it was the PS3 version. The original DS only had Xbox controller support in the pc version and you could only get PS3 icons in the UI via mods.

Hmm I saw the "B" button in the IGN video. You sure? I just read an article that claimed that the demo was running on PC. http://www.shacknews.com/article/78672/dark-souls-pc-was-half-assed-but-dark-souls-2? "Whereas the PC version of Dark Souls came out months after the console versions, Dark Souls 2 will launch simultaneously on all platforms. The hands-off demo of Dark Souls 2 that we saw was also running on PC hardware, as well." Maybe this hands-off demo wasn't the same as the one on IGN |
There's a permanent L1 over the top consumable on the video, so i'm pretty sure
. On the Xbox controller it should be LB.
I don't mind that version being the PC one, it looked pretty great to me, even better than Dark Souls with a couple of mods, as I previously said.

If Dark Souls 2 is getting a PC release simultaneously with the console versions, I will be very pleased.
60 fps on PC, oh joygasm
.
Even though you could force 60 FPS on Dark Souls, it was pretty spotty most of the times.

Only thing that would make me consider buying the PC version over the console version is it has achievements, That's the biggest draw in the Soul's games for me. A reason to keep coming back on that 3rd or 4th play-through.
It is already confirmed! PC, PS3, Xbox360 at launch! REJOICE!!!
| Allfreedom99 said: Im getting so pumped for this. I am a pretty new Dark Souls player. Just started a few weeks ago and I have to say I didn't realize what I was missing! A friend suggested Dark Souls to me and I kept putting it off, because he said it was different from many games I have played and I would die many many times. Well I finally said what the heck and got it. I have already put 95 hours into it within the past 3 weeks :). Thats how much it has drawn me in. And I have a full time job with a wife and child.....you can imagine how much sleep I have lost :) And trust me, that I am not your solely role playing type gamer. I also love FPS games, RTS, and racing. The 3 games I was in the middle of playing were COD BO2, Forza Horizon, and Left 4 Dead 2. I have not even touched those games since starting to play Dark Souls. Seriously. And I know COD gets hated on a lot but Im one of those guys that plays the zombies and multiplayer fairly frequently. This game totally pulled me in. Im about to venture into the Demon Ruins with my first character. For some gamers this game may just infuriate them and cause them to rage quit permanently, but this game offers such a challenge that I just have to keep playing it for the fulfillment it brings when I conquer an area, or situation. Dark Souls is one of the few games that bring back a serious challenge into gaming. It used to be most games gave a very hard challenge and now most seem like cake walks and hold your hand all the way through to please the casual crowd. Not this. You get no map, or quest list. Its just you, a world filled with horrifying, and unrelenting situations. I watched the Dark Souls 2 gameplay and I must say I think they are approaching it mostly the right way. They are keeping the main things about Dark Souls the same. They have changed some minor things by the looks of it, except I too wonder what the symbol is that replaced the Humanity icon. But I was relatively pleased with what I saw. Graphical update, improved movements and AI with the same general mechanics. Plus some of those areas look very dark and creepy. I can hardly wait to see more. |
Yeah man, the Souls games are incredible! By far the most engrossing games I have played this generation! I remember when I first got Demon's Souls and I was having such a tremendous amount of difficulty just beating level 1-1. I couldn't wrap my mind around it! But then, when I conquered it and started figuring out the game and how it works, I was completely mesmerised!

The PC version of Dark Souls had achievements (though they were linked to the horrendous GFWL). Since this time around it won't be linked to GFWL, achievements would probably be Steam only.
