The Last of Us numbers are very surprising for a new ip, especially since most of Sony's established ip's struggle to reach those numbers.

The Last Os Us is indeed surpring and amazing! It's a serious contender for GOTY, but y'all know that without Uncharted 2 and 3 this game would not have half of the pre-orders it has, don't you?

of course it wouldnt have, remember before they showed the trailer and they teased the last of us with that weird video? everybody was like "another zombie game? who fucking cares?" and people just dismissed it, then when they showed the trailer and the words "naughty dog" showed up on the screen everybody just started having sex with each other from happiness and hype. its a good thing and im guessing those jump in pre-orders are due to the add during the walking dead finale

Great numbers, seems like the 1 million first week is achieveable. It would be really great.

its sad how people are just ignoring this game, i saw some gameplay it actually isnt that bad. it looks quite intersting

They announced a demo release and reconfirmed was on fro May 28th launch

I hope so.  That game could be one of the last big system sellers this gen.  I mean most zombie fans will have gotten 360 for Dead Rising and L4D, but many will now buy PS3 as a second console or just finally get enticed by the new IP.  Couple that with a likely price cut by the time it comes out (I'm thinking either right before or at E3 for Vita and/or PS3 down to $200 for the low end models) and you could see Sony get a nice surge in their weakest markets since the US loves zombies so much.
