and didn't they say it is working on smart phones and tablets i small bullshit here

In two or three years, yes... for now they are only focusing in the next-gen.

Is anyone really surprised?...certainly I´m not, the cycle that began with the N64 continues, nothing surprising about that.

The question is.. what is the best way for Nintendo to make up for the lack of (good/great) 3rd party support?... these partnerships like SMT/Fire Emblem and Bayonetta 2 are something, but it´s not enough, not by a long shot.

Go on a buying spree?...I don´t see Nintendo doing that.

So, I wonder if a home console/handheld hybrid is a good solution...by focusing on a single system, the rate at which Nintendo releases their games might go up a good deal, making that those droughts far more tolerable.

Nindendo fans, good luck with Nintendo exclusives only again.

Is there any other reason to buy Nintendo Consoles?

If Nintendo gets 3rd party games they don't sell and all of the haters laugh and say that the game is on every other platform.

if Nintendo doesn't get 3rd party games, nothing changes and haters laugh and say that the game is not on the Nintendo platform.

It's the exact same cycle.

Except for when games do sell like Epic Mickey 1 or Goldeneye or Resident Evil 4.

Epic Mickey was an exclusive, Goldeneye was made by Rare and was an exclusive, and Resident Evil 4 was originally an exclusive but later ported to the ps2.  I guessed you missed the part I bolded, if it's an exclusive then sure, it might sell pretty well, but if it's launched alongside everything else, the nintendo version rarely sells well.

What game on a Nintendo platform, that launched side by side with other versions (NOT CoD BLOPS2) and wasn't gimped in any way didn't sell well? Soul Calibur 2 on GC outsold the PS2 version. CoD 3 on Wii, despite being gimped outsold the PS3 version. People learned their lession about CoD on Wii after that though...

I LOVE ICELAND!

So if the goal for UE4 is next-gen consoles, then that means it won't be coming to PC or mobiles/tablets. Contradicting their earlier 'very scalable' claim. Hm.

It's coming to mobile/tablets.

A lot of bad news lately for the Wii U, i am starting to feel bad for them.

The so called western 3rd party games hardly sell on Nintendo platforms, and neither of them is crucial for Nintendo to succeed it is well known fact supported by years of empirical evidence (sales). The eventual success or failure of their platforms depend only on success or failure of their 1st party software.

For 3rd party publishers the eventual success of Nintendo is extremely dangerous because Nintendo is the only platform holder whose success didn't depend on their good will.

No wonder they scream.

Another nail in the coffin for the Wii U....Nintendo went the weaker console route again only this time their new gimmick hasn't caught on to the masses. Im kinda glad its going down like this. They needed to be humbled much like Sony was with the PS3

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Honestly, I think Nintendo should partner with a tech company to create a device that's able to add more ram and specs to the Wii U. Not on the Wii U ,but the PS4 and 720 as well. Consoles are already seen as cheap gaming PCs, eventually its going to happen and I think Microsoft is going to tackle this idea first as Sony and Nintendo follow.

I don't want to see Nintendo go out of the console buisness, because it'll be very bad for the industry. I want all three consoles to succeed, I find it mean spirited to see people wanted a company to fail for their enjoyment. Remember folks, its fun to have little petty flame wars from time to time ,but don't forget ,there are actually people working at these companies who jobs can be one the line at these difficult times.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

A lot of Nintendo fans usually say that third party games don't sell on Nintendo consoles because they're not up to the quality of Nintendo's first party's offerings. So why do people care if third parties won't bring any games to the Wii U!?

This reminds me of how UE3 wasn't "able to" run on the 3DS, yet MT Frameworks (which is arguably a better engine) can.
