for those who dont click on the link, it does not mention no optical disk, always connected or kinect required. the thread creator added those. In fact in one of the images it even says it will have blu ray drive. so you may want to disregard this whole thread as flamebait or trolling.

"play from the optical disc is not supported" is what I'm referring to, but it takes reading to find that part.

The point is the creator of that article is falmebaiting.

yea i edited my post with some ore relevant information. you should adjust the op and title to reflect more accurate info. the way you present it is if there is no drive. it also doesnt really state that network connection is needed, just that it has always on always connected ability, which can mean it will be required to be online, but from their wording I dont think so. With a better opening post and title this could be a good thread to discuss in, istead of a flambait/troll thread.

There's no way all 3 in the thread title would happen. No optical discs would be one of the stupidest moves they can make, and the "always connected" move is hardly better (possibly worse).

Edit: It says they do support optical discs, just not playing off them. All games need to be installed.

Was about to quote you but your edit came through in time.

Well all the 3 thingd mentioned in the title are also in the document. Nui Kinect required to work. No direct access to disc for games. And always on always connected (though it might not be mandatory meaning it could be always on even if you switch it off but might not mean an Internetconnection is required for the console  to work.

All I see is a console with an Interface that needs Kinect to work and needs to install games like PC does.

nice, starting to play the game and it will install at the same time is great. i have no problem with game installs, only that i can't instanly play the game is something i don't like but that won't be the case then.

if kinect would have to be always on is something i don't really care about since my kinect for the 360 is also always on and i didn't die because of that yet

only thing i wouldn't like is if the console has to be online if you want to use it since i lose connection from time to time for few seconds or minutes. but it's not really clear if that will be the case or if you only have the possibility for this option to get updates and so on automatically.

I'm not gonna omit info. The article clearly states "always on always connected", so no its not gonna be deleted from the title, like you said it can mean anything, and the title is neutral, so don't go take offense and what you think really doesn't matters.

The document certainly states that Kinect is required, yes. But I think the other two things in your title are a little bit shaky.

Firstly, there are optical discs. They are just not used in gameplay. Think along the lines of every PC game of the last five years.

Secondly, I didn't get the impression from the text that "always connected" meant that you needed an internet connection to use the console. That just seems absurd. It means that when you put the console on standby, you have the option of letting the downloads continue.

I'm in the same boat as you, EXCEPT that's going to be a frick ton of storage! I survived the whole gen with my 20GB launch 360, no way will I be able to replicate that with the 720 without upgrading hard drives every year.

So Gamestop isn't going to like Microsoft too much anymore since I assume there will be a CD key or something required for each game on install.  I wonder if the disc is basically worthless for resell after you install the game.

no problem. your op will remain to be lacking info than(but its ok that info is posted later). your thread you can do what you want, but it doesnt foster good discussion.

After reading what the article states, that it will have a drive it will just install games, I am ok with that, I prefer my drive to not be spining all the time and making noise. That kinect is required and always on is also ok with me, my current kinect is always on and is my most used feature of my xbox. Not sure what to make of the always on, always connected. If it means internet connection requred, thats a no go for me and a deal nreaker. but from the wording it sounds more like it will always draw minimal power (porobably so you can turn it on by voice) and that it always stay connected to the internet in this state to keep games updated and current to allow for faster play is also good in my eyes, one area where it will be ahead of the pc.

yeah the documentation says "it will have enough space" whatever that is but the good thing is, if i finished a game i can delete it and when i want to play it a second time a year later or something i can just start it and it will install in the backround for a second time. there won't be the problem anymore that you have to wait until it's installed which means i have no problem with deleting games all the time.
