It occurs to me that the gaming industry is filled with sequels and we as customers love to buy them.  What I've always said is that once something becomes popular it is hard to make them unpopular.  In order to do that you will either have to play them out completely or make numerous bad games in a row.  The games I list below may be milked but they are also good games whteher we are tired of them or not. Please do not take milked as a bad word.  As I said before most if not all of these games still release good games. The Question is what games would you like to see take a break and which ones don't you mind being milked.  For me I'd say I don't mind Halo, Zelda, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid , and even mario being milked.  They still release top quality games and the mainline games are released years a part.  Sure they are being milked but they still bring quality to the table on mainline releases.

I'm assuming your counting HD remakes?

Yes i am.  Which means i may have missed some in some series like MGS or FF.  The ones with 15 or less releases should be correct though.

I personally don't consider Halo milked at all, or Gears of War. But the rest on that list probably are

Would the yearly sports games fit your criteria? How many GT and Forza games have been made since their initial release?

I agree kind of.  Halo is a top quality series and I see no reason for them to stop it because of that. The universe is massive so they could expand on it for years and the story could still make pefect since.  Even halo wars turned out good.  Gears judgement to me was un needed.  Gears is my favorite series as well.  And i think Gears 3 was the perfect ending.  I hope they give it a break for a litttle while if they decide to continue it .  That is just my opinion though.

I think Assassin's Creed could use a break. It needs to take some much needed time off to add something new to the formula and fully take advantage of the next gen of consoles. Ratchet should only take a break if all they have for the forseeable future is the shit that's been coming out these last few years.

Mario doesn't really need a break and obviously won't be getting one, given that Nintendo only just refreshed their consoles. That being said, they definitely should not release more NSMB games for awhile. Though I don't really think they will given how they usually release these games.

Assassin Creed, i mean its an awesome franchise but god damn, AC3 comes out 3months ago and we are getting commercials on tv for AC4 which releases literally at the end of the year! Thats like if nintendo already put pokemon X/Y commercials on now, thats F***ing Messed up to us gamers lol
